Hiya MM,
If they are like me they like to do other things first in their House and Job and then relax by going Shopping. That is my routine now I do all the hard work first leave the Dinner ready nice and warm and then I go to the Shops after.
I found that whatever time I went to the Shops the queues were still as long and as slow as ever. So I made this my time of the Day to go Shopping for Food and other things and it works well at the moment.
Lot´s of Women who work here have their working hours split up so they have to work in the Morning but also a good part of the afternoon even though they have a much longer Dinner Break too.

If all the customers will come on the same day, what will happen to the store on the next day and the day before? It will not gain profit if that's the case, and many employees will be losing jobs for the company will only be hiring people for one day. They have varied reasons maybe they don't have money on that day so they will be buying on the next day, maybe they haven't got any transportation in going to the store for they have flat tire that needs to be fixed, maybe they have jobs that need to do over time. They are a lot of reasons actually, we just don't know what each and every customers reasons are.

There can be various kinds of reasons. Such as the bad weather, the heavy snow or rain cause people stay at home. And sometimes due to the children will have exams soon, so their parents won't go shopping for this moment. And some people are short in money, and it may change in the paid day.
I love China

Customers don't have the same schedules, not all people work 8am-5pm shift, some are 9am-6pm shift, some work 7am-4pm shift, some work 3pm-12am shift, some work in the night....not all people do the same thing at the same time. Non-working individuals like full time moms can choose to shop in the morning, in the afternoon or in the evening. It all depends on their availability. Some do shopping once a week, some every other day some every two weeks.
In my home country, people shop mostly after 5pm or 6pm as this is the end of the working time. During weekends from Friday evening until Sunday evening malls and supermarkets are full. In wet markets, there's a big crowd during Sunday mornings as most of the people do not work during Sundays.
However, in this country where I am working now, they have different work timings. You will find the supermarkets full here after 1 or 2pm until around 4 pm then the crowd will come back after 8pm until 12mn. This is due to the fact that there are companies here that work split shift, like 8am till 1pm and then be back at 4pm to 7pm , some work from 9am till 2pm then will be back at 5pm till 8pm. Working schedules varies depending on which industry the people are employed. Work timings is an important factor to determine which time customers would come to the shops.
Another set of customers are students, they will buy their stuff after class and class schedules also varies. Shops that sells schools supplies should expect their customers to come after school hours.
Depending on what type of product a shop carries and who is the target market, shop owners could predict what particular time of the day they will be busy.

Just imagine all shoppers coming on the same day, hmm that would drive me nuts actually. There are so many reasons as the two posters state above, another too would be availability of money as some live on limited incomes and must await certain dates before their funds become available.
Take me for example I did not get to shopping until the 23rd of December as I have been sick for so many weeks and unable to go out anywhere. So on 23rd although still sick I mosey out and shopped until I could no longer take it. LOL.
