I had to put it under here I just had to as I am sure that some Peoples Brains frizzle at certain times
I am staying at my Sons for Christmas and New Year
Last week my Son informed his Landlord that I have a small Dog so there will be a small Dog in the Flat
This Morning, the Landlord knocked on the Door, as Mike is still asleep with working last Night I opened the Door
He just looked at me and then said "You must be his....." I said..."I am Mikes Mum, yes"
Well he must have thought that Mike was out, he said "The rubbish has got to be moved, also I am sorry but no Dogs allowed on the Premises"
Now note, he did not even say who he was, I looked at him and said " I guess you are the Landlord, the rubbish will be moved today, as for my Dog, I am visiting my Son, what do you expect me to do leave my Dog behind, I do not live here and I am sure that Mike will have informed you that I have a Dog"
He said " No I don't think he did" Mike shouts through " You will find that I did last week, I get it that I am not allowed to keep a Dog, but I will not have my Mum leaving her Dog at home when she comes to stay"
The Guy just said "Oh right, ok, I just can't remember"
Gissi ran to him, now thiss Guy was tall and broad, he nearly ran of when Gissi was near him
I called Gissi back in, apologized to the Guy that Gissi had scared him (he went bright red) and just said, he did not scare me, I just do not like Dogs
I told him fair do but he can not expect me to leave my Dog at home when I come to stay with my Son
My Son was not happy at all, I told him to leave it, even though I was furious myself which I did not show
I would not mind if Gissi was a filthy Dog, messed the Flat and if I did not clean up his Poop when I take him outside but that is NOT the Case
This is the Case of the Guy hating Dogs, because it annoys me that my Son is not allowed to have a Dog, but upstairs are allowed to have 2 Cats
What is wrong with People these Days ?????????

What, oh I was fuming while reading your discussion. This sounds like a mean and nasty character. The type that cannot stand people who are enjoying themselves, so goes all out their way to assure he spoils everyones mood.
Ugh... In all honesty when Gissi ran up to him, Gissi should have bitten his azz... Ugh.. Okay, next time I see Gissi's pictures, I am going to telepathy teach Gissi to chew mean nasty people's butt! Sorry this Auntie will be a bad influence but Gissi will love me. hehehe
LOL...
I am so glad your son yelled out to the landlord as some landlords are so unfair and sometimes as tenants we tolerate because we fear having problems. Okay your son needs to bit the landlords butt too.

Hey Alice, have not seen you for a few days.
Yeah the landlord felt like a butt indeed, and I am glad that Mike shouted out to him.

I don't know what is wrong with the landlord guy but there is something wrong with the rules when some people are allowed to have cats but other people are not allowed to have dogs. Here, where I live, we are allowed to have pets (dogs or cats) but they have to be 25 pounds or smaller. No really big animals are allowed. When I do see a big dog, I know it does not live in my area. Your son should look into that situation more if he plans to have a pet. What if the landlord is afraid of fish? Is no one allowed to have fish because of his fear? I am kinda glad Gissi gave this guy a fright.

Hi Gabs,
It's like that where I live too. I know people here that have cats but the rules say "NO PETS". I am guessing that they are hiding the cats when the landlady comes around. I know that it is in our contract that we can't even have them here to visit. My daughter has a dog and she keeps him at her dad's house but a few times she has brought him here for a visit. Nothing was said. I figure that they have to have the rule in place because there are people who would bring a dog here that would disturb others with barking or the owner would let it poop everywhere or many other scenarios. Since Gissi was not causing problems then I don't understand why the landlord felt the need to say anything. Sounds as if he was just throwing his power around....or trying to anyways.

Hi Sid
If Gissi was annoying noisy and all that then yes I would agree but he isn't and the Guy was aware that I would be staying with Mike and that I had a small Dog so what was his Problem
He is actually not the Landlord he is looking after all these Flats for the Owner and Mike said that a few Tenants here just smile at him and ignore him, as he likes to make People think that he is of importance lol

It's the holidays and it is to be expected that people are going to have guests and possibly a dog or cat. I don't even see why he had to notify them. Nothing need be said as long as there is no problem. I'm sure it is just as you said...he needs to feel all important.

hi gabs I think Saphrina had the right idea, you should have had Gissi
nip him in the butt.I will bet that would have sent him running right over the pond and landing in the US.he he.Some landlords are real horses
rear ends. I guess the land lord is a cat lover. I always told my hubby we should be wary of people who do not like dogs, specially politicians.
We had one politician come around campaigning and my dog went bananas. He acted like he wanted to bite the guy. A year later this same politician was indicted for embezzling almost a million dollars of public funds.
Dogs sometimes know better than we humans do.lol.

Hiya gabs,
Yes Gissi should have bit well leave that one out. We cannot have Pets here in this Flat either. Other People here are allowed to have Pets because they are the owners of the Flats which I think is logical to a point.
Where I live they are awfully nosy sometimes and try to get through the Front Door to see if I have anything out of the unusual which I don´t but they must think that I have.
Perhaps it´s because we are too quiet? Too well behaved?
Good for you standing up to the Landlord good Girl and Gissi too. Hugs. Sue.xxx

Hiya Gabs/Gissi,
Was just thinking about that one too. Just lately they have been a lot less nosy thank goodness for that. I certainly do mot miss them. We have had to call their attention though because the Children were playing with marbles on the Floors till all hours of the Night.
It did not affect me but it did my elder Son as he could not sleep with the Noise they were making.
They try to say that it is not them but who else can it be then I asked myself. I mentioned it to her one Day you see and she said that it was not them but very strange that the very same Day it stopped altogether for a while at least.
I don´t mind the noise but these two do they cannot tolerate it like I can. Even so they should not be making that kind of noise at that time of night.

I know that you were not happy about this but I would say most landlords did not like the tenants with pets. They would think that pets would leave dirty marks on the carpet or carry fleas or small bugs that would make the house uncomfortable to live in with. This would prove trouble for the next tenant on that property that they may not like it (because they may smell something not nice). Landlords have their rights to determine whether they allow pets or not and they might set their own rules so if tenants don't like it then he will reject their application to rent property.

I understand all that but then the rule should go for all and most Landlords do not mind as long as the Dog is no bother that Visitors bring Dogs
My Son informed him last week that I was coming for 10 Days and that I had my little Dog with me and he said ok, so why approach me about my little Dog when he was aware of it

I think you were right, he is scared of dogs. Maybe something bad happened to him when he was growing up. Also it could be he is afraid of liability.Afraid the dog (not Gissi, but any dog) will hurt someone and he will be liable. It is ridiculous that he did not remember, but this has been a busy week. Next time, Mike needs to put it in writing, keep the original, and give the landlord a copy. Then he cannot so conveniently forget. He should not raise a fuss, you do not visit all the time.

Oh the Guy admitted later that yes he does recall Mike telling him so all that for nothing
Mike said to he is not the Owner he is the Guy that has been put in charge and he sometimes goes over the Top just so he can feel important
That is what I said the most I visit is 2 times a Year so I do not understand why there had to be fuss
Hugs

No Mike won't as Mike had told him and the Landlord admitted it later
Mike told me something else this Guy had done while Mike was on Holiday and he had no right to do it, because Mike pays the rent and if he wants someone to stay in his Flat while he is away to look after it, the Landlord had no right to throw them out and Mike gave him a right earful when he got back

You are right if the landlord says no pets it should mean, NO PETS. It's not right that you can have a cat and not a dog. I have seen where cats make more of a mess and do more damage than any dog even as a puppy that I have had.
I let my friend bring her cat here with her for a week and that cat crapped all over the bedroom even though he had a litter box and fresh litter daily. He sprayed everything in the bedroom. It took me forever to get that smell out of that room!
That man is just going off on you because you are a woman but when Mike spoke up he tuck his tail between his legs and wanted to run. lol

Hi gabs, I don't understand it either. We hear constantly to adopt a homeless pet! Adopt a pet from the shelter! But yet, most rentals won't allow pets on the premises. Where are we to put them then? Besides, if the owner were like you and I and clean up behind their pets then we wouldn't have so many rentals that won't allow pets. It's kind of a catch 22. Actually it is a catch 22. Sad but very true. As for myself having 12 cats and 5 dogs, you'd think my house would stink to high heaven but it doesn't. In fact, the guys who laid our carpet down was right surprised we had pets at all and then the number of them because they couldn't smell them. I told them that we keep the place clean at all times and if we see a soiled spot we clean it. We don't wait till the next day or next week, we clean it right then and there and use things that will take the smell out. Both were amazed and said if all pet owners were that way.
As for this guy or air head, he probably had a bad incident happen to him involving dogs and that's why he doesn't like them. Some people like cats and/or babies and other things and some don't. It's a to each his own thing which is fine but this guy should've remembered Mike telling him about you coming. And for him to call Gissi rubbish is very insulting! How would he like it if you were to call something that he likes rubbish? I don't think he'd like it at all. Shame on him!

I agree with you Sweetie
The thing is though People these days do not need Pets to make the place Dirty I have seen so many dirty places it makes me sick
Also the Problem with People is that they are to lazy to clean up after their Pets which is not good for them or the PETS for that matter
I just don't get it either I mean these Babies have a right to a loving Home but because the Landlords are getting so bad now not many People and I mean genuine People can adopt them any more
In the new Place I had to sign an agreement to say if the Pet caused any soil or Fleas that I was responsible for the costs of getting what ever it is removed, so why can not every Landlord do this I do not get it
Hugs

It doesn’t sound too fair does it? It more than likely is because the silly man doesn’t like dogs! As far as the neighbours owning cats it is not right because the rules should state no pets and that should mean no cats as well! My sister lives in a unit where they will allow cats but not dogs and I cannot figure that one out, what is the difference?
Good on your son for sticking up for you and Gissi!

I do not know what the Difference is Paula
Cats are more likely to have Fleas as the poor things seem to be the Targets of the Fleas, they have to use the Litter box so there is more smell in the Flat
I just do not know why it is Dogs they seem to be against
I would understand if it was a big Dog in a small Flat but it does not state that,it always states no Pets or no Dogs

Hi Gabs!
I love your Avatar! Looks like Gissi is sure ready to party for the New Year, lol!
I have seen some damage cats can do and it isn't pretty by no means. Broken blinds, torn screens, torn curtains, scratched doors and cupboards. I have friends who have cats and they're terrors, and the smell in almost unbearable from them peeing...ugh. But of course, not all, just some. Dogs can be mischievous too but are no different than cats to me.
The landlord just sounded like he wanted to pick an argument with someone. Or maybe he thought you were moving in, haha. I'm glad you're visiting your son for the holidays and I hope you're feeling better. You take care..hugs.

What a jerk. Why couldn't he just let you have a nice visit with your son? It's not like Gissi is moving in for good and even if she were, she's probably more well behaved than the landlord is. I do wish Gissi had nipped him just a bit..just for good measure..lol.

If the landlord was well informed he must not create issues.Such people are of flickering mind.We cannot deal with them harshly but yes we must be strong enough to make them realise the truth.Still as he is landlord you have to bear his orders.Although from your words I can find out you are very simple and submissive people but sometimes situations become helpless and we have to bear such people.

Hello Ankster and yes I agree
I know there are a few that do not like Pets around but when they know someone is visiting with a Pet as long as the Pet is not a Pain they make an acceptation He even admitted Later remembering Mike telling him about me staying and having a Dog
