Well, my 12 days vacation almost over, and I will be back to work on next Tuesday. That is a pretty long vacation for me, and I have to admit it, I had done nothing, really. That is why my mom keep on nagging. I suppose take that opportunity to clean my car at least, but I made up the excuse of too cold. And I didn't actually help my mom vacuum the floor, or dust the table. All I did just surfing the web, or watching TV like a couch potato. I felt so bad too after I realized it. Anyway, today I got up early, and help out to wash some dishes, and that is at least I can do to help out.

I don't think that there's anything wrong with doing NOTHING on your vacation. I mean, either you can be super productive or you can be lazy and do nothing. I don't think there's anything wrong with being lazy on your days off, though.. You deserve it! That's why they call it vacation! Personally I don't get paid vacation, although I do get the paid holidays off. I would imagine that if I did get paid vacation, for 12 days like you did, I might want to be productive for maybe HALF the time and just be a total couch potato for the other half. THat sounds awesome.

My mom also told me that I didn't do something worth it this vacation. I just watched TV all day. I used the computer everyday for several hours. My mom complains that I should have done household chores everyday. I also slept too long that I wake up at 9 or 10 in the morning. I felt bad that I didn't do something good this vacation. This morning I had to sweep the floor and I did it.

what did you do with all that time? seems like you wasted it when you could have done something useful or productive.

yeah that is true. I am on holiday too and every 2 days i have to get up and do the dishes as otherwise there would be no clean plates. I mean your mum could ask you to do things but also you should see it is not fair that u do not do anything.

L.O.L. My vacation is over on Monday I have to go back to work too!! I have been on vacation going on 2 weeks now and I have not hardly done anything either! I just stay on the computer and watch television too. I am kind of upset with my self because I was planning on doing a lot of things around here like cleaning, organizing, e.t.c. And I didn't start until yesterday and it was late when I did, and now I have been sitting at this computer for hours and I told my husband I would finish the cleaning today but I need to just don't feel like it but I am sure I wil start again soon! Have a good day!

I have about 15 days of vacation... And I haven't done anything productive in that period too. But I do help in the chores these past few days. But other than that I just sat in front of the tv and watched movies and ate.

my idea of vacation is to go to a nice place far away from home and work site and just laze around, sleep, eat, read, watch tv, soak in the sun, visit tourist sites, and window-shop, even meet a few people around. staying at home for 12 days and doing nothing while everyone else is helping with the chores and me doing nothing would really upset some people . so, yes, maybe you should help a little bit around the house a bit if you only spent them days there. but since it's also meant to be a vacation, your mother should also give you some leeway on these days and allow you to really relax. .

I have smaller kids that have helped me during the week. I did alot of it on my own but sometimes the things they do make me tell them to get up and help. I really wanted them to enjoy their vacation because once they go back to school I know they put alot of going to school. They have never missed a day and hand in their work like they are supposed to. Reality is that once you are an adult you will have to do it yourself or your home will be a reflection of yourself. It would be nice to help your mom to make the load lighter on her because mom's don't get the vacation you got. Their work is constant.
