Well tonight will be officially New Years Eve, and I personally can't wait. My husband and I usually go to one party or another being held by our family. This year however, we have decided to do something a little different. My husband, our two daughters and I, will be spending a nice quiet night at home to celebrate. We are having a special dinner together, playing games and just spending some quality time together. My husband is working right now, and won't be home until around dinner time, so we have decided that me and the girls will go shopping for a few things while he's working so that once he gets home, we can just hang out together and have fun. I am very excited and have been waiting for a while for a day like this to come along. My husband works very long and hard shifts, so the fact that he is on early shift and doesn't have to work tomorrow, means extra time together which we all love. We had a talk last night and decided to make a few New Year's changes and one of them, was that we would spend more time as a family, and less with everything else. I am very happy to be making these changes and can't wait to see how it will change things. So what about you? What have you promised to do or not do this coming year? Do you think that you will stick with it? Why or why not???

I am going to move more, read more, clean more. I think you and your husband are doing so great. I think it will make a wonderful year and a wonderful life for you guys. My best memories of New Years are exactly what you describe, a good meal, family time together. I love playing games with my family.

It has become a tradition in our family to have barbecue on New Year's eve. Since we have so much of excess goodies from Christmas like cookies and cakes, we finish them up during the New year eve. Besides barbecue, we have singing and drinking till the wee hours of the morning. Happy New Year to you.

that is really nice... i also spend my new year's eve and new year day with my family only... i don't like crowds and prefer to just spend quality time at home quietly with my family members... it is much nicer rather than have to be pushed around and stepped over everywhere i go if i join the crowds... take care and have a nice day...

Happy New Year CRIVAS; Bless your hearts and may 2011 bring much happiness, fun, laughter and love into the lives of you and yours!
We are not doing a Special dinner tonight but tomorrow night.
This evening will be hanging out with my Dad and my princess pup.
I have spend the holidays with my Dad. This year it has been quite pleasant. Quiet and not a lot of hustle and bustle. Which is the way I prefer to spend holidays. Off times I am always running, crazy busy so it seems. It has been nice.
We are welcoming 2011 with open arms and paws.
Looking forward to 2011 as it should be a very good year I suspect. Seems that they can only get better.
I plan to spend more quality time focusing on my dog. May not sound like much to most but is the world to her.
Additionally, I am looking forward to launching an endeavor that I have been working towards for sometime now. Anticipating to become my mainstay by this time next year.
Life can get so busy with just making a living. I am with you on the resolution that your husband and yourself have made. May peace and love always be with you.
Happy New Year!

It sounds like you're going to have a fun family night! I'm not actually doing anything tonight but that's OK - I'll have fun all by myself LOL. My dad might make margaritas..Yay! Haha. I like your new years resolution - to spend more time as a family. That's good. I've been reading a lot of people's resolutinos here on MyLot, and I don't think I've seen that one yet. I wouldn't mind spending more time with my family, but ugh - we all have different schedules and only can seem to hang out on the holidays. I have promised that I would try to get back into school this year, pay off debt, do more charity work, get braces, etc. We'll see if I hold through with any of those goals!
