Turns out the Constitution is too old to understand and doesnt have binding power. This according to Ezra Klein of The Washington Post.
http://www.breitbart.tv/liberal-star-blogger-ezra-klein-constitution-has-no-binding-power-on-anything-confusing-because-its-over-100-years-old/
This offends me as an American. How do you feel about this? Do you agree?

My take on this is that the READING of the constitution will have no binding power in Klein's opinion. The Democrats are going to read the Constitution when congress reconvenes. There wasn't any mention of abolishing it.
And the constitution IS over 100 yrs old and to some people is confusing. That's why we have the courts system.
I do not agree with Klein in most of what he says but I think this video is being misunderstood.

Thank you. I stand corrected in that the Republicans are going to do the reading. However they have said that the Democrats are invited to participate.
I do stand by my interpretation of the video in that Klein said that the reading of the constitution will have no binding power.

Im sorry but thats bull, this country was founded on a good, strong, well thought out constitution and if its too confusing for some people to figure out then they need to pack it up and move, I swear my self under god if they were to ever try to abolish our constitution, ill move, thats bull, its bad enough that our law makers trample all over the constitution as it was written but that article is offensive to me as an American.

More people need to stand up for what this country was founded on. Too many times we let our government run right over our constitution and our rights as american citizens.

Anyone who says that never believed in the US or the US Constitution in the first place. They resent the idea that the government shouldn't be about themselves.

HAPPY NEW YEAR "laglen". Interesting thought even if it is absurd. The constitution is about "300" years old. The "FRAMERS" that most treasured document is what set the U.S. democratic values of what I call "our basic freedoms". Without the constition, and in some cases in American history with it it has been tested and it seems to work very well for the U.S. though it gets tested from time to time. What do you think?

Actually he was talking about the mass out-loud reading not being binding. He's right, of course. It's lip service to those who want to return to the constitution. It won't do anything but waste time. I guarantee you within 1 year these new congress members will probably violate the constitution at least once.

I don't think that is what he was getting at I think that he was getting at that this whole reading the Constitution won't have any binding power on them. I mean they do take oaths to follow said Constitution but do they I mean Patriot Act.
If he did mean the Constitution isn't relevant than well he is fairly conservative since the Geneva Convention isn't relevant either and that was less than a 100 years ago. (Sorry had to put this in here)
I actually don't expect a lot out of the two parties we seem to always vote for as well they have long since forgot about the Principles of this country which are pretty simple really you can say them in just a phrase of sorts Limited Government Individual Liberty. That is the principles of this country that we have forgotten about we aren't Christian yet some of us are. We aren't Atheist yet some are. We aren't Straight most are but we as a country stands as a Republic as one nation. We are a group of individuals with liberty that stand together to maintain the liberty of every individual as their Creator (Be it God or the Big Bang) with these rights life, liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.
Some may disagree with how I see thing but that's their right as an individual and I respect their right to do so.

The Constitution as it is written is an awesome work. If it was not twisted and torn and misrepresented, it would still be the best written document in the world upon which to base a government. We (our government) however, has chosen to twist and tear it to pieces. They have outright ignored what it says and passed legislation that it says it totally wrong. We as a people have stood by and allowed this to happen....There Are No Innocent Bystanders!! It is our fault and so we will pay for our stupity, lazyness, and greed as a people.
