I am 21 years old, i finished my high school about 4 years ago, now i want to study a technical career, i want to be a programmer.
But i am really too afraid that when i finish this career, i won't find any job. I just don't know how do i start searching.
Once one finish his/her career, what is the best to do next? How do you start looking for a job? In what kind of company, or what kind of a job can a programmer do?
Many times the fear frozes me. When i think of many people, that even after finishing a career, have it hard finding a job, i start thinking that the years spent on studying such career might be a waste and i end up unemployed and without a way of earning money.
Please someone tell me, once you finish a career, and you are "tossed" to the street, what do you do next?

why should you choose to study programming if you are scared of getting a job? if you think you will hustle alot seraching for a job after schooling then you need to do another course. again i dont think the course you do really matters that much...its you hardwork that matters.
be hardworking and honesty and you will definitely get a good job

yes in reality i think is a legit tought considering the global situations and the future is no so good as some people can think...in reality finding a ood job is difficult especially in this moment....in my country the majority of young people about 25-35 years old aren't able to find a good job..even if they have a good level of education so university or other..

Hi there Habacucc!!!
I know how you feel coz sometimes I also think of things about my career.I am actually an IT student and I am fortunate enough to reach my last semester and be a candidate for graduation this coming March. But I am worried that after my graduation I will have no job.
Its a good thing that you know what type of career you want to pursue. And from what I know programming is one of the most highly paid job.But unfortunately only few people are qualified for this career. In my course we also study programming and different languages but the problem is I don't know which one to master coz all of them have different usage.
I think in order for you to be a successful programmer what you should do is to know what programming language to study and focus in it.When you study programming you will be introduce into different programming languages like C,C++ and C# it is hard to master them all so I say just master a language that suites your current need.
And also if you want to be a programmer you must be logical, patient and hardworking. You must be a problem solver and must know how to get around things.Programming is a very good career and it is a very good source of income if you have what it takes to be programmer.

hi Habacucc
let me be honest with you
you wnat to be a programmer that's good but it is hard way do you know that ?
if you rely on what you are going to study in collage i will tell you . yes you will be unemployed because what you learn in collage is the bascis only which not enogh to make money.
my advice to you i will put them in lines
- if score of collage from 4 make sure you gradute with first class 3.7 and above to find a job
- collage is 4 years . every year you should get external certificated from outside the collage exmples ( A+, network+, security+) but if you are want to be prgorameer you have to focus in programing languges extranal courses ( java certifcate many of them , php , c# and .Net , pathon , perl ... )
to know which is course to take just think like this ( i am gradute and i am seeking job.. i will search for job in internet in job seeker sites ))
ooh this company need programmer but what is the quilfication they need hmmmmmmmm
3.7 ( good communication skill ?? why they need it ask you self and how to gain it
can work under prussser ? why ?
good in ( c++, jave, .net) these are main stream
by searching in job seekers sites you will know what employeers need and you gain what they need during 4 years of collage (every year at least 2 certifications don't forget )
and good luck is also need it :)

hello friend,
I am 20 years old almost done my course Information technology and as I have studied programming is one of my difficult subject I am not frightening you at all. But you know what it is quit fun doing this because it is an achievement for you when you done it alone.
My specialty is not a programming I am a web designer and I want to be more professional with this.
You know this is the only opinion I can say to you. In our modern life we are more likely to be more in gadgets , games , laptop etc. Don't you know that without programmer it cannot run those thing even the small cashier in mall it is adapted my many programmer. Programmer never stop creating a new things particularly now that we are now in modern era. right? Programmers play a big part in our civilization because they made a hard job.
That is why don't be scared to be a programmer if you dream follow it and don't be scared because if you are always be scared you will always fail .The job won't come to you look for it. OK?
GOOD LUCK.

If you can afford to take the education..do it. By the time you "graduate" jobs might be available again. And you just out of school is what they look for. These days they don't look for those that already have the experience as they feel they will have to pay a higher salary. But if they hire someone with no experience or just out of school, they won't have to pay that higher salary and those that they currently have will be the ones that "Train" them in the company way, so the employer gets it great on both ends...low salary and training they way they want.
SO definately, if you can afford to get the education...get it.

Why are you so negative about this? Why don't you do your best to finish that course first and do not worry about what to do next or how to find job.
The worst thing that people do in their lives is to take courses that they do not love nor of interest to them, these sort of people are the ones finding a hard time getting a nice job. Why? It is because either they perform poorly in their academics(which is reflected in your TOR) or they just get a job that they get a job they hate but they have no choice because it is what they can do.
If programming is what you really love doing, I'd say finish the course and apply after. Be sure to make a good impression in your transcript of records. There are a lot of corporations needing programmers all over the world, so don't worry. You have a place to land. Just invest first in studying well.

Never give up buddy. I think the life will never cheat to us. If we are trying our best and never give up in the end. then I think I will enjoy a good life at last. For e, i think I will just try and try for the third. If I am a glod, then I think the boss will see the shining on my body. Then I will just find a very nice job there. Keep on doing .

go for it and at the same time work part time so you will have an advantage to have an experience in working area to make your get your job after graduate easily.like if you want to be a programmer once you have the basic skill, attempt to try to write a simple programme/system then proceed with the harder.the exercise you make and the result(the system you write), you can use it when you apply for a job in the future.

That's a practical way of looking at your future. Taking a course in college in consideration what lies ahead for you after graduation is a good approach. However the best deal to the situation is do your best to finish up college as opportunity is greater than to those undergrad.

Never give up. Being a programmer is a good career. Just think positive and be dynamic. You should be able to harness your skills to the fullest. Don't just stick to 1 single language or field in Computer programming but explore all other opportunites. Even if you don't land the common office job, there are lots of those "work from home" opportunities for programmers.

That fear comes to everyone in life at all times. All you can do is NOW is hope for the best to happen and do your best at your studies. You shouldn't rush things after you get a degree, that is you should get upset if you didn't land a job the first 2 months. You should look everywhere, in newspapers, on the internet, you should also have some good relationships and some friends who might help you get a job in the future.
Most people who remain unemployed is because they're too lazy to get a job. A job is always there, you just need to wait. While trying to get a full time job you can work over the internet and get some cash for living or get a par-time job. Just remember that to get something you need to fight for it, ofcourse I didn't mean that literally, but you should give it all that you can give to find a job. And usually you want get a CEO job as soon as you graduate, so don't think you're gonna be some major manager in some big company as soon as you graduate. We all start small and with time we become bigger, and that's just the case with working.
I wish you the best in life, and remember the ones who are most afraid of not getting a job are the ones who get them :]

Hi Habacucc, actually I think that finding a good boss is better than finding a good job.
There is no point getting a highly paid job, and work under an abusive boss. You will not feel happy, and the abusive boss will not groom you for a better position.
The best is to find a good boss who can mentor you, and give you better advice in different aspects of life.
My boss always says that it is not what you know, but who you know. The people you know are your future. They can recommend you to a better job, or give you help when you want to start a business.

Don't give up. Life is filled with obstacles and all sorts of detours. All you can do is hope for the best. Be wise in picking your career. You want to make certain you are doing something that will always be in demand. Some careers are here today gone tomorrow. The health field is a great idea! There are lots of choices and there are tons of jobs to choose from?
Have you considered the health field or are you certain about programming?
