Blue star!!!!!! Ratings

Well Diana at one point I really wanted to see a red balloon/ball but it takes time I'll still keep trying Hello HWG I'm really sad for your bitter experience and am quite speechless. Because I don't know the answer for "I help so many members and this is the thanks I get" Blue

At least you were blue for five days! I have yet to experience blue I went right down to a silver almost two years ago and since then it has gradually crept up but it is a long haul. The rating system has never been used correctly and I doubt that it ever will be but you will be blue again!

Well I suspect that a certain number that I have helped, apply through their teasing jealousy about my star being higher, have been negating me. I am one that never takes note of posting numbers, star, or earnings, so it is not until some of them point out the star, in a jealous manner that it immediately drops. Outside of that there is no reason for any member to hunt me intentionally, unless there are really bad members here, I cannot explain it. I monitored something for two months, where as I was a nine, then I jumped to a ten and bingo there were the members expressing their jealousy that I was higher, I keep telling them that it did not matter as they have been here longer and in reality I am fairly new just more active. Would you know it mysteriously drops. This same thing happened the last time when I was a ten, exact pattern and same members, so my suspicions get confirmed. Other then being a ten I never get responses by these members ever. I would not mind whats so ever if I were a deserved 5 at all but to have people intentionally seek you out is disheartening. Not so much in the drop but that people do this because they are jealous, Wow. Oh well it is life, we dust off and we learn to move forward.

The discussion will be deleted in my opinion, because may be a week ago, one of my answers to similar topic was deleted I don't think it's so big deal if we discuss how great for us is when we move up with the stars, but it's kind of violation reading the guidelines.

Seriouslt does this discussion look like I'm showing my milestone? Really is this discussion really going to get deleted? I'm feeling so sad right now. Really sad.

Renhard I would lie if I said I was not feeling bad, I know what you are going through. I feel that helping the way I do is truly not worth the thank yous I get. I get so many best responses daily, and I never participate in negativity and well I get intentional members negative rating me. My five day ten went back to nine.

I see whaat you are saying hatley and i do rate people discussion and responses. Hardworkinggurl you cant leave mylot, you just cant. Everybody will miss you. I hope you haven't left already and sorry again for my late response.

Well ladies my blue star lasted 5 days, it is so unfortunate that we have so many jealous members. I have been nothing but positive and helped so many but unfortunately the trolls will not let go, maybe I should just forego and let go of myLot. I want to start 2011 in a positive side and being here will not help my mentality. Unfortunately.

I know about that. Do i ever tell you about the time my star drop to an 8 and it was because something rated response negatively after i disagree with person. The owner of the discussion said he wanted out honest opinion and i gave my opinion and only because my opinion opposes another members own who also responded, he felt he had the right to rate me negatively and that cause my star to drop. If i can remember properly the discussion was about if its right for student to attack teachers if the teacher attack first, like if the teacher tries to beat the student. And the person says it is definitely wrong because the teacher is authority, I said though that i also think it is wrong BUT seriously if that was me i would hit back the teacher. i also explained that, its how my country is set up, from a small age we have learnt how to defend our self verbally as well as physically and knowing myself i told the member i couldnt just sit down also because i was 16 at the time and that would just be totally embarrassing. Now he said that he totally disagree with me and started to talk to me in a more rougher tone of voice. I tried to explain more how i feel. It seem he just couldnt understand what i am saying and the other day i notice that my rating has drop to eight. For that reason i know that this is just unfair. The only way possible that i should have been rated negatively was if i talk about something totally different from what the discussion was about such as if i talked about cars when the discussion was about respect between teachers and students. Am i wrong or right? You tell me.

I really hope that i start to get and understand the whole system soon. If you get any more info please dont forget me.

What am trying to say is that people shouldn't rate mylotters just because they don't agree with them. just like what happened to you. still a lot of people doing that now a days.

Letran this is not true, I have never been negative with any member, nor do I go into any negative discussion. My blue star lasted five days. I was trying to be more thick skinned by unfortunately the jealous members will continue to follow me, so there really is no point in wasting so much effort to be shot down like this. I get best response at least 20 a day, there is no reason why I should be negatively rated at all. I wanted to start 2011 with a more positive mind and well this won't help, so I am thinking my best thing is to not spend on here. I have enough offline and so when I come here I feel really good about helping people, and this is the thanks I get.

but i do all that Letrann and hardworking gurl, so much best responses in a day. If i am going that much best response it would take me over 10 years. You really have something going there. I really think that you deserve that blue star back, that is totally unfair when will these people learn they cant do that, you must not rate someone response as negative unless it has nothing at all to do with the discussion and that is hardly the case so please just stop.

sorry for the very late reply and i see what you are saying. But i have already waited so long. I think i have been on mylot for 2 years or 1 year and couple months and as soon as i have reach 100 post i immediately got this red star, so you are telling me it is taking me over a year for me to get that blue star. You know how it feels when you work hard and you feel you dont get what you deserve. It makes yoiu feel like it doesn't make any sense you try to go after what you want. It makes you feel like the whole world is unfair and you have to have *links* to get what you want or you have to know how to cheat. And it is usually the cheaters who win the challenge, but that is just life. Not e briefly i am not calling anyone cheater, i am just saying i feel terrible how i have tried so hard for so long and still i cant get any blue star.

Like how you are already at that star I would like to ask you if best responses has anything to do with it? How much best responses have you received? I have only received one best response that is why I'm wondering if it has anything at all to do with it.

I personally think u make someone mad & they give u a negative rating. I got kicked back to a 9 once & i bet it was a year before i got a 10 back. Just be patient & enjoy mylot & quit worrying about something u have no control over.

Antiquelady, this can be but then there are members who intentionally are jealous and rate you negative. I was a ten for five days and today dropped to nine. I am so positive on here and strictly go into discussions where as I can be helpful. I never debate, I have enough of that offline. So some members are intentionally rating down. About two months ago I had a ten and it lasted one day. So maybe this time the trollers were on holiday so they are back to haunt me again, so unfortunate.

So is there anything different when you have the blue star and when you have the red star? Do you see an increase in money or anything at all?

You are always have some lucky people in the world that ends up getting what they want always. I guess you are that type of person. I really wish i was like you. Sigh. I have to work so hard and still nothing.

To me when i see a blue star near a persons name, i would rather respond to their discussion than lower star people. I feel that they are higher authorities and that they deserve respect. So that is what that blue star actually mean to me. Also seeing that blue star near my name would make me feel much better and also make me want to work harder in this site as i would have feel that i have achieve something. Its like running a race, you get a blue ribbon for first and a red one for second. Getting the blue ribbon doesnt make you faster, if you are at a certain speed you will continue at that speed until you work harder to get faster. But the ribbon doesnt contribute to your speed. You could be really slow and get a blue ribbon because it is who you are competing with. But the ribbon shows that you are work hard in that category of people to actually come first. Its just an achievement.

OK then. So do you have any advice on how i can actually get people to rate my discussion so i can reach that 10 star. I would really appreciate it. Because i have tried everything without any luck. I feel so bad.

I know that is sad but the way you said it makes me want to laugh. I guess politics is just not the place to bring an argument. So if you think i should not respond to those places where exactly should i respond to then?

Actually i want it because it will make me feel as if i have accomplish something and it will give me the energy to work harder here on mylot. I just really want to reach that blue star. You see because most of the time i was on the 9 star i started to think that this rating system was not working or something until finally my star drop to 8 because someone rated me negative because i disagree with him. Now i know that the rating system was working but i felt really sad for i wanted to reach a 10 but instead i drop to an 8. Then after about a month or 2, my star went up back to a 9 and i really want it to reach to a 10. Is it so much to ask for.

But i have been waiting so long. How much more should one person wait to receive just a higher star. I am starting to feel that this is just a waste of time and i really dont want to feel that way. And i have been doing everything that you have just said. Every single thing down to the last detailed. I am getting really tired now.

The thing yo both are forgetting is that even though there are more which will rate you positive than those which will rate you negative. The ones that rate you negative does it intentionally thus those persons will always rate you negative. On the otherhand those which rate you positive, even though there are more of them, they usually forget to rate, and thus most times you will notice the negative catching up to the positive. Life is so unfair.

I agree with bounce58 on that. Though there are a lot of people who could just be marking others down just because they wanted too, there's still your MYLot friends that will rate you positively. I don't really know how someone could get a high rating and I've been absent for doing some discussions for two months I think. It could also be doing more relevant and awesome discussions. And I tend to be very polite and not misleading when I do my comments. I'm also careful on commenting on sensitive discussions as there will always be people who can't take the heat. Hope that your star will improve sooner than you think. Good luck and just be patient.
