All winter the kids have been wanting to make a snowman. The one time we did get any significant snowfall, the snow was light and powdery. My son tried making a snowman, but it kept falling apart. Well, finally when the snow started melting, and we received some rain, the snow was packy enough to make a snowman. The kids made a nice little snowman in the neighbor's yard (they had more snow in that yard-and nobody lives there) Well, they made the snowman one day and the next day it looked like this...(posted pic) What winter activities do your kids enjoy?

When it is snowy outside, my children love to build snowmen and to have snowball fights. In addition to these snow packing activities, they also love to go sledding when we've gotten a decent snowfall. We are lucky that the empty house next door to us has a really good hill that the kids can go sledding on when we have the right amount of snow.

Here it is the first week in January, and there is still only about an inch of snow on the ground. I am not complaining, because at least I don't have to be out there shoveling it. The kids do miss the snow though. Sounds like your kids enjoy the snow just as much as mine do.

I hope that one day, you will be able to see real snow. It is so pretty, especially when it has fallen fresh from the sky. Thank you for pasting Professor Bhuwan

Well, we do not get much Snow here where I live now. But back when I was growing up, I lived in IL. We loved to make Snowmen, Snow angels. snow forts and just have Fun in the snow as long as it was not too cold. Sometimes I miss the snow, and all the Fun things I used to be able to do as those are some Great memories.

Yes, the kids love making snow angels too. I wanted to help them make a snow fort this year, but we do not have quite enough snow. Thanks for participating :)

Well,it is lucky for you to always see and play with snow in the winter. In the city I live, sonw is very rarely to be seen,so making snowman is very hard for children to realize. But it doesn't mean that my city is not cold in the winter.Actually, the weather in winter is very very damp and cold, and terribly the wind is usually very heavy. So although I have no kids yet,I still hope that they can play and do anything they want to do indoors in winter since weather outside is really very horrible.

Yes, the snow is pretty and we do get to play in it, but it's a nightmare when we have to shovel the driveway.

Ohhhh, your snowman looks like what we would get around here, and that's not saying much. Last year we actually did have a little snow and a friend built a snowman and sent around pics taken with a cell phone. It was a beautiful snowman. We couldn't figure out how they could have built such a large snowman. It was actually only a few inches tall! They had built it on the porch railing. The angle of the picture only made it look big.
We just don't get much snow around this part of Texas. And my only "kid" is fast approaching 40 so I don't have a lot of experience with what the kids do for winter activities any longer. I do know the kids in the neighborhood like to slide down the street when we have a lot of ice. They use flattened boxes or whatever they can find. There aren't many sleighs around either. Kids will find whatever means they can to enjoy a day in the snow.
