To Redeem, Or Not To Redeem..

As I earlier said, I've made enough on Swagbucks to redeem a $5 Amazon card. But now I'm wondering if I should redeem the card now, or save up for awhile and redeem a whole bunch at once? If I redeem now, the $5 will just sit in my Amazon.com account until I'm ready to start Christmas shopping next year. If I do not redeem now the points will just sit on my Swagbucks account until I decide to redeem them. So.. where should I let it sit? LOL Do you redeem your points right away or do you wait and let them accumulate for awhile before redeeming them?

I would redeem them. As you are only allowed to redeem for 5 gc's a month. And if you do the math you are loosing points if you wait for the $25 gc. You aren't earning interest on either account so where they stay makes no difference in that aspect. BUT when the holidays roll around and you decide to cash out of SB you would only be allowed to cash out 5x and if you have more than that in points you will not be able to cash out all of them in time if you wait to the last month or so. They only send codes out on I think Mondays & Tuesday so they don't send them all week long so there's a few days to a weeks delay to get your code as well to consider.

No, I remember you telling me that the $5 card is cheapest, so I'd just save up to get a few of them all at once. I wouldn't end up saving it for long.. I just feel weird getting $5 right now and letting it sit on Amazon for almost a full year! I know, everyone has told me it never expires on Amazon. I just thought maybe I'd save up and get 2 gift cards at once instead of just doing it one at a time... but either way I guess it doesn't matter.

You can't get 2 gc's at once. You can order a total of 5 and you can only order them one at a time. So when you order them they will come as individual codes for $5 each and each $5 counts as an order. I don't know if I'm making any sense... but you can't order a quantity in $5 increments. So when you hit the 450 order one just don't exceed the 5 orders a month & it'll tell you when you've reached that limit.

For me it's always depended on whether I had anything I wanted to use it for or whether I knew for sure I could trust the program I'd earned it from. I think at this point in time I'd consider saving up for next Christmas or maybe for upcoming birthdays. Annie

I've been told Swagbucks has a limit of 5 redemptions a month, and 1 at a time. I was thinking of saving up until I could get a bunch of $5 cards at once.. but if I can only do one at a time.. that's pointless. I might as well get them now and apply them to Amazon. BTW- on Swagbucks, buying 4 of the $5 cards actually costs less points than buying 1 $20 one.. so it makes more sense to cash out everytime you earn 450 Swagbucks.

If you look at the values, you get more for your points redeeming at $5. You just redeem those, then when swagbucks sends you the code, put it on your Amazon account, they never expire. I was going to go for $20 at a time, but it costs over 3000 for $20 in Amazon from them.

Yes, that had been pointed out to me.. so I'm going for the $5 ones definitely. I was just wondering if I should save up and get a couple $5 cards at once, or get them one at a time. I decided to go ahead and get the one I can redeem now.. might as well, right?

I am paranoid enough about paying sites that I want to get the money as soon as possible.

I think in my case it would be better to let it sit in my swagbucks account. I think if I cashed it out right away and sent it to my amazon account that would be a bad idea. I would be too tempted to buy things on amazon knowing that the money was sitting in there to pay for it lol. I think you have a good idea as far as saving for Christmas. I think I'm going to give it a try.

I've been told you can't redeem more than 1 thing at a time, and no more than 5 a month.. and the $5 cards are overall cheaper than the $20 ones (it costs more points to get a $20 than 4 $5 ones). So I redeemed the $5 card... but $5 sitting on my Amazon account is not going to make me want to spend it, LOL.

I am one of those who like to have things build up and watch them grow until I have enough to get something I want....Though sometimes I have to watch it as recently one account where I get points at is changing....

With Swagbucks, the $5 Amazon cards are cheaper than the $20 or more expensive ones. It would cost more points to get a $20 Amazon card than it would to get 4 $5 cards. Weird, isn't it? So whether I save the points or not, I'm redeeming them for $5 cards. It will either be one at a time, or a few at once.

I would redeem it now, it is advisable to cash out on all money making websites as soon as you reach the payout, because the website could close at any point and then you would loose all your money. Amazon is much more stable, as a worldwide corporation it is less likely to disappear overnight. I am not a member of Swagbucks, but on other money making websites that along cashout in voucher form, they send you a code. You can always just keep a record of all of the codes in a notepad then when it comes to Christmas put all the codes into Amazon and start buying!

I would lose the notepad! I think I'll just put it on Amazon as soon as I receive it.. that will make it easier on me!

i think it is better for you to redeem it... i still feel better if the money is sitting in my own account rather than in a website account... with so many scams online, i don't feel secure leaving my money on a website... the moment i am eligible to withdraw my earnings, i will do it straight away... i just feel much safer this way... take care and have a nice day...

I redeem right away. I don't know why, I just do. Sometimes I build them up a bit further and get the $5 paypal, but this year I am just getting amazon cards because I am going to, like you, use them for Christmas shopping next year. I hope to get a lot more this year - last year I didn't really do a lot.

You can use other sites to get some Amazon money in your account. Including their own micro job site Mturk that pays directly to Amazon account for spending. It really is a matter of personal preference on when to cash in. If Amazon is something you will use the offer they have on $5 option is very good right now.

I would let is sit in your swagbucks i wouldnt feel safe with it sitting in amazon. They might start telling you that you have a certain time to use it or something. Well good luck with whatever you choose and ihope you make the best choice you can.

For me, I redeemed my first 450 sb (which was 45 at the time with a whole different method, it took forever to get them then) to make sure that the site was legit. After I did that the first time, I decided that I was going to start saving them until I was able to get 5 in a series of 3 days in a row. The reason that I opt to do it that way is because it is simpler for me to put $25 worth of codes into my amazon account at a time. Congratulations on earning your first swagbucks prize.

Hey matsmeow1213. I too am a member of swagbucks. It seems that you do not know that you can only take out 2 prizes at a time (as in, per day). So if you are planning on saving up a large amount of amazon, to then redeem for one expensive thing, i just thought u might want to know you may have to redeem over several days. But that said, i leave mine in my account, because i am not sure yet if i want amazon.co.uk vouchers, or the paypal money

I didn't know that. I'd heard you can only redeem 5 prizes a month, but I didn't know there was a limit of 2 per day. So maybe I'll just save up until I can redeem 2 cards and do that.. get 2 cards at a time.

I would personally redeem them, you don't know what could happen between now and Christmas and you don't want to loose them. I think they would be safer in amazon.com. I am not saying that anything will happen with the site, but now a days you never know. Better to be safe than sorry.
