Do you still get paid if someone responds to your discussion after a day?

Every time you make a discussion and people respond to it then you get earning,
but you get your participation on myLot everyday.
What happens if someone responds to it some weeks later?
Do you still get participation?
If you do get participation where will it go?
On the day you started the discussion or on the day the person responded?
I see this as a discussion because I can't find it on mylot Faq and because I think many new people have the same question.

You NEVER get paid when other people respond on your discussion!
YOU only earn for what YOU type.
If you want to earn for a discussion that youstart, then you should comment on the responses and further the topic.
In the FAQs it states:
" If you earned nothing, then you didn’t post anything"

All those topics that you have started are not discussions unless YOU go and further the topic and comment to all those who have responded. Then, and only then, does it become a discussion instead of a question with some answers and then, and only then, will you be earning too.

Wow! Thank you for this comment of yours Diana.
Yeah, you only get paid for what you typed for. I will keep that in mind. Also, I think that the higher the quality of your comments, the higher your earning will be because high-quality comments give you good reputation.
The better your reputation is, the more people will want to discuss things with you here on MyLot.

Great start for this discussion.
Further to the link given by diana, I advise you to read the following Three topics which are available in the mentioned Frequent Asked Questions column:
1. To increase our earnings. 2. Referring friends. 3. Earnings calculation.
I hope all of your doubt of the earning scheme will be cleared.
For any further inquiries in regards to the payment, you are only allowed to consult directly to the administrator of mylot.

Mysdianait you are alot of help on this site. I appreciate you for this.
Actually I figured this out from reading the guidelines when I first joined mylot. If you don't type you don't get paid. It is as simple as that.
Just starting a topic doesn't mean it has become a discussion. That depends on the responses/comments back and forth with the members.. Then it becomes a discussion
I have commented on discussions months old and yes you do get paid for your participation. I have had some where we went back and forth even after being there months later. It is better than starting a new one on the same subject.. I go read and respond if I feel I can add to the discussion

i'm not sure about this... but i don't think you will get paid if people respond to your discussions... you have to comment on the responses to be able to get paid... and regardless how many days after you make the comment, i think you will still get paid... take care and have a nice day...

Discussions are never 'closed' here on myLot.
If someone responds on an older topic even years llater, they will earn for their particpation and you will earn if you comment on their response, just as always. The date makes no difference.

You can see that many of us are doing it and there is a reason.
MyLot is a discussion site.
It is not for questions and answers and is not a paid-to-post site either.
Here we earn for participating in quality discussions.
I have a feeling that this might have helped (and been a shock) for many

I gues I will respond some more on my discussions, I didn't really do that yet.
You really helped me out on this one.

paid for our work.no no no. it does not work that way go back to all your discussions and comment on all of them then you will get paid.
I cannot understand where any of you got the stupid irrational idea you would get paid for something you did not do at work do you get paid for the work your friend does? no of course not. s ame here you tyoe and
post you get paid I type a response to your discussion I get paid. You comment on my response you get paid, you work, you get paid.

I always thought you get paid more if you respond if your discussion is a top discussion. Isn't that true?
I have been reading the guidelines many times now.
Isn't your post sometimes worth more money then other times?
If the discussion gets bigger don't you earn more for your comment when your discussion gets in the top discussions?
I didn't think of that myself I read it somewhere here on mylot.

Only if you response to what is being commented on. The thing is, it is one of those misconceptions on myLot that you get paid for responses. You get paid for your participation, responding to the responses. When you participate, you get money. I would advise when you post topics to respond to comments. Otherwise, you'll be throwing earnings away.

It is all relative to the quality and the substance that is in your topic/response/comment.
The longer you are here and test all these things out the sooner you will realise what is necessary and what suits you best.
Of course if you start having FUN instead of concentrating on earnings, by magic they will add all add up!

But what I am asking myself is do you get more money when you comment on a response on your discussion than when you just post a comment on a response on someone elses topic?
And do you earn less if you respond on a discussion? Than if you do a comment on a response on your own discussion?
