Do you read comments first before you submit yours?

As for me, sometimes I can't help but to read few responses first before placing mine especially if the topic is the one I searched for. But when was notified for a new topic started by a friend, I immediately click the 'respond to this discussion' button. How about you? Does reading comments prior to posting affect your comments?

Lately i read nearly everything, before, after and long after my own response.
But time ago it was not that way, somehow it affected to me if i read so much different opinions and i got lost in all i read
And i don't answer somewhere, where there is only one solution, because i'll have nothing more to say than the others said.

Hi there singup,
Actually have no idea here if the comment we posted which is similar to previous ones is counted as earnings. As the guidelines says Don't respond to a discussion until you've read all of the responses. I can't really tell how broad or specific is the rule but to be sure we must try as much as we can to comply to the guidelines.

Yes, and I add comments as I go through them if there is an interesting response where I feel I want to add something - or when I see a friend that I just want to *nudge*

Most of the time, yeah, I read them but when I'm so sure that the question has a lot of answers and there'd be like one in a million that my response will be the same as another, I usually post immediately. Although Lamb is right, we're supposed to read the previous responses first because there might already be a response similar to what we're planning on posting. It's a guideline. You should go for a quick visit at the FAQS page.

I don't usually read comments before i submit mine. I'm scared to be influenced by what i read and post similiar ones as above. I like to phrase things my own way, giving my own opinions without being too bias or agreeing with the majority. I noticed that most discussions in mylot, tend to have responses agreeing with what the poster says or wants. If there's any disagreement, thta particular comment would be targetted.

Hi there syoti,
I know a bit late commenting back but it's better than none at all right? Going back to the topic, there are some interesting topics out there that are worth reading for as they are very informative and can even apply them in a real life situation.

I don't always read other responses, especially if it's long
so I'm not affected by them
if the thread is not clear, then I will read the starter's comments to other responses first

There are topics that are really very interesting and yes i read all the comments before i post mine.
There are some topics also that have very many pages of comments already, then i read firs 1 or two pages and the last page of comments before I post mine.
There are those that i read only the first page or first few comments only before i post mine.
Yes, comments from other members affect my responses.

Good Day!
I don't read the comments of others but sometimes I do when I have enough time to read those. I'm always in a hurry so I don't read comments of others.

I am guilty of sometimes putting the cart before the horse. i do read the other comments on a discussion, but not always before i post my own.

Actually,it depends on the situation for me. Most of the time, I response to the topic directly and would rather not to scan comments from others. It's just like what you said, reading comments before you post your own opinion would affect your original intention. There is also an exception. When I have no idea what to say in a certain topic and rush to express my thought,I would scan other's opinion first.Maybe it can give me some inspiration.

yes i do, because some comments are the same as mine. If that's the case i add my comment , that i agree on her comment or i have the same thought as hers etc. and i further elaborate.
But most of the time, i give my random thoughts by responding at once.

I read some comments but not all.sometimes after posting my comments,i read the comments given by other users.but, in some cases, most of the commentators have the same view to post. so i think, it doesnt matter whether u read the commnets and post urs r not.

As for me,occasionally i will do that. But most time,i add comment on a post, just because i am intereseted in it. And of course, there are some times i can't real understand what the post means,so i check others' commends. From those comments, i got to know what the post really means. Then i can put my own opinion to it.

I do read other members' response before writing mine. It's something that I usually do. Sometimes, I don't, but for the most part, I do. It's something that I usually like doing. I'm curious to see what others have to say about a certain topic.

Well myLot wants us to read the previous comments before placing ours..And why risk my sweet money by violating guidelines! I would advise everybody to follow the guidelines as sincerely as possible as that would not only help them to survive in myLot but also earn more.

I read every comment to the posts I have made and try to comment back to the responder if I have something to add, otherwise, I just thank them for responding. Many times, the discussions are asking for an opinion as to how they actually do a particular task, so if it is something like that then "no" I do not read through every single response.
Often when I read a question that might have an answer like I would respond...then I pass that converation and try to find another question to post to.
I go back to the faq's (frequently ASKED questions) often. I will try to avoid questions that can be answered with a simple "yes" or "no" answer. because that to is a violation of the guidelines.
This topic itself is a violation of guidelines, because it can be answered with a yes or no answer.

Hi there buggles,
It can be if you put all your attention only in the title but when you go through to the content in which still part of the discussion you will able to see replying yes or no isn't enough. Actually I am having thoughts right now why you haven't avoided this topic. Maybe as what your response reflected, the topic is beyond yes or no.

Hi, Lance.
I don't want to deny that I do sometimes read the comments, as in everything, before posting mine. . It is not to cheat but because I couldn't wait to see what's going on especially if the topic had my curiosity rouse to its peak.lol
But, even before reading and posting mine, I already had figured out what to say. I always make it sure that whatever I have read I'll not get influenced, unless, I do agree with such particular view.

Yes, i read the comments before i post a response.in fact Mylot suggests you should always do this. i don't want to give a response that's similar or a duplicate of what someone else said, especially if the discussion starter as already responded to that person.
