Manila Ocean Park

Last year, we went to visit the Manila Ocean Park, which is located beside Quirino Grandstand in Rizal Park. We managed to get a promo ticket that cost 500 plus pesos. We visited the Oceanarium, looked at their collection of Jellyfishes, and seen the Sea Lion show. Manila Ocean Park is good but not that amazing and some parts are still under construction. Have you visited Manila Ocean Park? What can you say about their attractions?

I don't know, when one says "ocean park", I always think of SEALS. But I didn't see any seals when I went there last 2010... So I'm a bit disappointed. I got tired of seeing the same old rays and big fishes. I had expected something more exotic.

Oh! You did not got the chance to meet the sea lions there? We watched their show when we went their on October 2010. However, their show is not spectacular, but we enjoyed it. We also visited the place where they are held. There are at least five sea lions in Manila Ocean Park.

Yes, I know that there are sea lion shows there at times, but I prefer to just see them swimming around the tank, without doing any tricks and just swimming freely.

yAH. I like it too. However, I think it is better to see them in their natural habitat

Actually, I made a post about Manila Ocean Park on my tavel/personal blog. I agree with your sister. As of the moment, Manila Ocean Park is not that thrilling and there are many parts that are still under construction. Also, I don't think the set-up of the place was good. Maybe I am just too negative on these things. If you want to go there, I suggest that you wait until all the construction works are done. Also, choose a non-Holiday and non-weekend date to avoid the crowd. Also, avoid going there during the months when educational tours are on full swing.

Manila Ocean Park Musical Fountain Show - A shot of the musical fountain show in Manila Ocean Park. Many spectators even said that it is better than the musical fountain show, Songs of the Sea in Singapore. I am really proud that there is an attraction like this in the Philippines and it was not so pricey too! I got a ticket for only 99 Philippine Pesos because of an online promo. Would you believe a world class show like this would be cheaper than a movie theater ticket. [em]thumbup[/em]
I think the reason why you feel this way about the park is because you did not get the chance to see the Musical Fountain Show. I was really amazed because it was truly world-class and to think that we got tickets for only 99pesos because of an online promo. A lot of spectators even said that the show is much better than the Songs of the Sea show in Singapore. The fireworks/ laser show that backs it up made it even better so I suggest you go to Manila Ocean Park at night and get tickets for this show, you wont regret it! I've attached a photo for a teaser.

Haha! You hit the point. :-) Yeah, I did miss the Fountain Show. However, next time, I will go and see the Fountain Show. However, I still believe that they continue improving their other offerings like the Oceanarium. They should make sure that people don't loiter inside the underwater tunnel. Alos, they must speed up the construction of some parts of the Jellys attraction.

We have visited the Manila Oceanpark a few weeks after its opening. The entrance fee then was about P400 which I thought was too expensive considering the facilities and attractions that they offer. Back then, the only attractions were the aquariums containing the various salt and fresh water fish/creatures, the fish spa and the souvenir shops. I haven't had the chance to visit again but i heard that it is more enjoyable now because of the improvements and activities added.

Yes, there are more attractions added like the Marine Life Shows, the Jellyfishes, the boat ride and the Musical Fountain Show. But it is more expensive at 500 pesos as the cheapest package. I guess they shouldn't open the Manila Ocean Park when many attractions are not yet finished. It just disappoint many of those who attended few days after the launching.
