I love the show, and just finished watching a couple episodes this morning. They always make me laugh. One thing I love about the show is that they are always discussing their problems over a slice of cheesecake. After they have their cheesecake and a little talk they always seem to feel better. What's your thought on this? I like the idea of eating cheesecake, and having a cup of coffee while discussing life's little problems. hey! It works for them.

I think that it would be nice to enjoy some sweets while discussing the problems that we have in our lives. However, I really don't think that it is the cheesecake that is really the point. The thing that I really learned from all of the years that I watched The Golden Girls was that you will feel better if you have someone (or a series of people) that you can talk to when you are having problems in your life. It really does make everything better to be able to talke about your problems.

That is one of my favorite sitcoms of all times. I could sit and watch repeats every day if I had time, I think. I like the idea of sitting around and talking out your troubles over a slice of cheesecake. My friends and I are always joking about ending up that way when we get older. We have even tried to figure which one of us is who, from the show. LOL I guess I would probably be more like Dorothy, although I must say, there is a little bit of Blanche in me that would like to come out from time to time. Interesting discussion that you have started here, thanks for getting my mind working and putting a little smile on my face for the day!

Yes, I am probably more like Dorothy myself, although I don't think of myself as being that up-tight! I love Blanch's character, and although I often feel like I am seen as "too innocent" I wouldn't want to be known as a "hotty totty" either. Sophia is a "hoot!"...lol..."picture this...Sicily...1922!" Ha! Gotta love those women. I sure wish I had some chhesecake right now!

Cheesecakes is one of my favorites and I do like to talk over problems over a cup of coffee (cheesecake is seldom around). But I hadn´t noticed that at the Golden Girls show although I loved it when it was on. We are not having reruns of then now unfortunatly: if I could watch them, I´d be hooked to the TV instead of the computer. THere were awesome!

We don't have cheesecake around much either, or to much tv as that goes. Thanks for participating :)

Well, buggles, at first the title threw me off. I couldn't figure out what in the world was a Golden Gil?!?! Then I realized you meant Golden Girls. One of my favorite old shows. So from watching these ladies I believe there is nothing that can't be solved over a cup of coffee and a slice of cake, usually cheesecake, but it could be chocolste, as well. In such a relaxed atmosphere, with our closest friends, we should be able to solve the problems of the world. As you say, it worked for them, so why not the rest of us.

Mmmmmm, yummmy...white cake with chocolate frosting! My daughter loves chocolate on chocolate. Oh yes, just thinking of it, makes me all cozy inside. Thank you for responding.
