Both my parents are addicted to Mafia Wars...

...and now they have surpassed my level. Seriously, do you know other people's parents who play Facebook games on a regular basis? They're in the early 50's so I guess they just want some leisure time, but they do tend to hog the PC whenever they see it vacant. I want my old parents back... The ones who love Scrabble and knitting and fishing. (sighs)

I think your parents are cool. I'm simply fascinated by people (who has the same generation as them) who are also inclined to the new stuffs around us. Let them enjoy what they are doing because eventually, their enthusiasm for the game will just fade out.

I've had a change of heart. I now accept their "addiction" to Facebook games. Who am I to judge them about how they spend their leisure time? They've lived full lives, I guess it's not too bad for them to experience what young people are playing these days.

I'm in my early fifty's too and love to play games on facebook. That is the main reason I go there. However, mafia wars is not what I'm addicted to. I love the farmville, Cityville and lexulous which is scrabble. It does past the time away and its especially fun when you play with relatives that live far away. I play the scrabble with my daughter and my sister. I live in Puerto Rico, my sister in New York and my daughter in NM. So its a way of staying connected. I don't think your old parents will be coming back anytime soon.

Yes, I have several friends on here that play games on Facebook and I know they have kids. Not sure which games they play. I think you might want to say a fond goodbye to your old folks. Rarely do I see any of my friends Scrabbling. My daughter doesn't even knit anymore. She puts together puzzles or plays her son's DSI. And fishing- I wish I knew someone who still fished cause I love fish!

Actually, I think that there are a lot of times that my mother needs to find a mindless habit like playing a game on the computer. She works hard outside the house to keep her household running and just when it seems like things might be settling down for her, they get more hectic. My mother and his family still live with her and they just announced last week that they are expecting their third child. I don't think she will every have relaxation and leisure in her life.

Wew youre parents were cool. But it became youre problem because oldies like them should not do that. Maybe you should make them back to before.

I think that is wierd too, my friend's father plays farmville which is quite embarrassing really. Perhaps you should tell your parents to stop, because there are much more productive and fun things to do with their time. Also tell them never to spend any money buying extras, Zynga has become the largest games company in the world through selling those extras.

seems like the parents or people of that age bracket or older are all getting addicted to facebook games or pogo games.. eh whatever makes them happy eh?? but yeah it would be annoying to have both parents just all of a sudden become obsessed with it
