Hi friends! I find that Facebook is getting immensely popular day by day and many mylotters use Facebook for connecting with their friends and for sharing many things (including their personal photographs. Would like to know about those mylotters who find Facebook a better place to connect with friends and who all are there on mylot and on Facebook, as well.

Hi Chaitra! I think those who log in to Facebook regularly make full use of it and stay in touch with their friends and keep sharing many things and keep playing games on Facebook. I have recently started using it and I find some of its features interesting and above all I can log in through my mobile, which becomes convenient for me. Have a great day!

Hi Sree! Please do not say that these kind of discussions are not for you . Participating in such discussion will prompt and encourage you to explore Facebook and you may become its member soon. Try it, I would say, it is fun working there.

It is free to join, you do not have to pay any fee for joining it. And you can keep your identity secret over there, means till you wish, others cannot add or connect you.

Oh yes, I find Facebook a lot easier to connect with friends than anywhere else (even Orkut). But I realized I was spending a lot of time there with an excuse of bonding with my friends. So, I've consciously brought it down now and don't spend as much time there anymore. A lot of people I know are on mylot and Facebook too.

Oh Deepak...I certainly did not mean that I am trying to replace one with the other. Both have different uses. Though there is a new option on FB of forming a separate group among ones in your friend list and discussing something without the others knowing about it...or even chatting with that select few at the same time.

I understand SV that you did not mean to say that you are trying to replace FB with mylot or its vice versa. As regards forming a group, I was recently told about it by one of the friends, who is a member on both the sites. In fact there is a group called 'mylot lovers', wherein I found some of the mylotters keep posting links about their posts on mylot and ask others to respond. Chatting option is also there and it could be affectively use to connect with on friends. Have a great day!

Hi SV! I learnt it from you that Facebook is easier to connect with friends . However, FB has its own limitations and we just cannot do certain things, as we do here on mylot. Thanks for joining us here. Hope everything is fine? Have a great evening! Deepak

I never quite was into FB until my friends and family living abroad forced me to. LOL. Actually my sisters and close friends who are on FB and sharing their lives with the world told me that they are missing out on me. I had an old account which I used for promoting my articles. I logged in to realize that I was missing out on interesting trivia that they were sharing. I never stopped after that. I love being there just for my family and friends, including you.

Hi Mimpi! I think connecting with those of your relatives who live abroad through Facebook is an exciting thing. I feel that some of the things could easily be shared on Facebook e.g. our photographs etc. I have also recently experienced that FB is very convenient to update our status or share our views/pictures and the message(s) go/goes across quickly to all who are in our list. I am glad to hear that you go on FB not only for your family/friends but for 'me' also............Many thanks for giving me this privilege.

I am nor aware or say not sure if they locks the photos from copying? If not, then anyone can copy our personal photos? (If you come to know about it, please let me know). I think there are some provisions of privacy and everyone even if in one' friends' list cannot see the photographs and/or make comments on the photographs.

Hello, dear. How are you? Facebook, for me, is no doubt the best place to connect with EVERYBODY, not just friends, or relatives or acquaintances but also would be friends or would be love partners..With its population growing rapidly in such an unimaginable scale, this is the best site for building your networks, too. Don't you think that almost everybody, young and old alike have facebook account? And my God, dear, kids are more familiar with farmville than Aesop's Fables. Life of human race would never be the same again without facebook.

Hello! Eureka! What caught my attention in your response was your statement - would be friends or would be lover partners. Do you keep looking for new friends? and/or Lover partners? Everybody is fan of Facebook from a 12 year school kid to a 70 years old man and people have found a wounderful platform to connect with each others and I think population of Facebook is growing day by day. Many thanks for responding and sharing your views. Deepak PS - I felt sad to see that your post about 'love' got deleted?

i think so... it is so popular now and everybody is using it... i had managed to connect with many of my old and long lost friends from there as well and i am grateful for that... but still, if i can choose, i prefer to connect with my friends face-to-face as it is more personal... take care and have a nice day...

Hi lingli! Nice to meet you. You have around 12000 posts and we never came across on mylot. Back to the discussion, I more or less in agreement with you that connecting friends/relatives on Facebook may not be as warm as meeting friends/relatives face-to-face. Nonetheless, conecting gets possible with friends, with whom we cannot meet due to one reason or the other. Thanks for sharing.

Hi dpk, it's very true that FB is one of the best places to keep in touch with friends. We could contact with our friends conveniently via fb nowadays. Our friends and us would receive email notification if there is any message from fb. Fb is a popular social network site and almost all the people around me are fb regular visitors. Most of them are indulged in the games available them. I'm member of this site as well. I indulged in playing the interesting and exciting and challenging bejeweled game there too a year ago But I had refrained myself from playing such time wasting game later. I would log in the site only whenever I receive notice from fb, or I have something to share with my friends there Have a nice day

Hi Ik! It means you are also of the view that FB is a useful site for connecting with friends and knowing about their status. Playing games is also one of the options, which make others stick to it for hours.. I do not play games on FB, rather would come to mylot to participate in discussions. Many thanks for sharing and enriching the post. Have a nice day!

I will never be on Facebook. One All my friends are here and 2 I don't have a picture of myself that is digital and that I like. The best picture of me was taken whe I was 7! I prefer that it is my ideas that link me to people rather than what I look like.

Deepak, I joined facebook only to promote my article way back in 2007.I never used it as a social site except having a few members like you, kala and a few others most of whom were on line friends. Then my children added me and then their friends, and then my cousins and so on. The greatest advantage has been to connect and get to know some of my relatives with whom I never had any close contact or friendship earlier, also found a few lost contacts as well !...But with all that I never log on to facebook on a daily basis. I do only when there is a email alert. I would rather spend time here on mylot or researching for my articles on line rather than there - all the best , enjoy your evening

Hi Kiran! I know that you keep posting links of your articles etc. on FB. I understand that you get to connect with your lost relatives and friends and can share some quick messages etc. However, it is not mylot. The satisfaction of participating in discussions here on mylot is quite different from spending time on FB. I fully agree with your statement. Have a great day! Deepak

Hi dpk! Happy New Year to you! Oh yes, Facebook is definitely the best place to connect with friends (and family)! However, I may have mentioned to you before that I am very "private" online, so the people that I connect with on Facebook are only the ones I know personally. I share photos, news, etc on Facebook - pretty much an open book. I have considered connecting to a handful of people on myLot, but I just get so paranoid about online safety (as I have much personal info on Facebook) - and I probably have nothing to worry about - but I just do.

Hello much2say! I know about your 'privacy' thing and I know that you do not share your personal details with strangers or people who are not closely connected with you and not even with mylot friends. I think you make full use of Facebook applications to connect with your close relatives/friends. Happy New Year to you too! Deepak

I am not a fan of Facebook and I don’t use it for connecting with my friends really because I find email a better way to communicate. I am a member there and, although I’ve managed to locate a long lost cousin and some old school friends I admit I don’t log in very often. I much rather come here to MyLot!

Hello Paula! HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU! Nice to see you in my discussion. I agree with you that email is more personal and private than Facebook, as regards connecting with our friends/relative is concerned. FB is like a public place, where many others notice you, even if you do not want. Thanks for sharing. I would also prefer mylot to connect with friends rather than FB.

facebook is more for 'real' contacts and that is how I have taken it to be. If you let in just one 'virtual' 'friend' from any forums then you will open it to a vast number of that person's contacts whom you do not know. Not a wise thing to do.

Hi all! I feel your notion is correct and facebook could only be used for 'real' life contacts/friends/relatives. Allowing virtual friends could be troublesome for some people not for all.

Though I am not a facebook fan and don't use it much, but I agree and believe that it is the best place to communicate and connect with your friends and family members. There are many ways in which you can connect with your mates and interact with them. You have messages, wall posts, applications, photo and video tagging options and much more. It have nice appealing and fluid interface and you can also kill much of your time with it.

Hello tonight I found 4 people on Facebook that I haven't seen in a long time. I got to chat with my brother's friend while he was in high school. I was so excited in seeing some of the people I grew up with in elementary school. Life sure does go by fast but it was nice seeing these people having families of their own.

Hello!I am one of those who appreciate facebook and think it can even get better,so I login there every day to check on news from my friends and share some of my thoughts and preferences, but I don't spend too much time there because there are also other interesting sites I like to visit almost daily and mylot is one of them.Anyway,I consider facebook very useful when it comes to connecting with friends.
