Are distressing about the winter storms that are coming through this end of the country. I'm in Kentucky and am expecting somewhere up to 4" of the white stuff in combination with sleet and rain which will probably affect the roads which will subsequently affect the school and church closings. I won't be getting out in it except for going to the grocery Wednesday morning. Gotta get some cat food and some me food. This end of Kentucky is supposed to get less of the snow storm than Indiana which is immediately north of us. Tennessee which is below us alreadly has the storm in their midst and I pray all of you are coping well. After the grocery run, I'm just going to hunker down and let it blow and snow and whatever else strikes its fancy. I'll sit and watch the birds and stray deer wander by. (note to self: get winter bird food) It can't be as bad as the 20 inches that was dumped upon us with no warning 3 yrs ago. Power was down for days and we had to go to the Salvation Army Shelter for three nights. I am praying that doesn't repeat itself. So how's it going where all of you are? Any of you having to shovel to get out? Got any photos of the white stuff? or the brown slushy stuff?
So that's the gist of my middle-of-the-night soliloquy and I....Oh, and just a reminder to all of the little four-legged fur babies (and the big ones. Anyone living with a Great Dane?) Be sure and remind your mom's, pop's, and no-fur siblings that you'll neeed extra food and treats if the snow stuff stays around a fairly long time. And don't forget about feeding the little birdies, ok? Here's wishing all of you a happy snow event.

Good morning, u are very kind to worry about all of us. We have been very blessed here to not have as much snow as alot of people do. One of the perks of not being able to work anymore is not having to get out in bad weather anymore. I miss working but sure don't miss having to get out in bad weather. I stopped sun. after church & picked up a few things i thought i might need. I stay pretty well stocked up all the time. Don't get out much but when i do i stock up pretty good.U be careful getting out tomorrow. Have a great day.

I conked out last night after starting this discussion. Woke up this afternoon to find only about 2" of snow. The roads are slick though. But I've made arrangements for a ride tomorrow morning to the grocery. Hopefully by then the roads will be better. Wind chill is a bear though, right now. Thanks for response and for the good wishes.

Luckily here in WA state, at least the Seattle area, we have not had a bad winter this yr. We did have an interesting storm in November that gave us some Snow but lately we have been having nicer weather than what was originally expected. I know that everywhere else in the US has had a lot colder than usual for most everyone, and states were getting Snow that usually never see any. Just makes me Glad that I live where I do.

I wouldn't have thought that Washington would be light on snow. It's so far north. The central states have had temps lower than average and snowfall higher than average. This is one winter that I'm glad to see go away. It's been nice this week but I'm sure we've got another cold/snow spell in store before spring finally comes. It usually happens that way. Thanks for your response.

Thank you for your reply. Looks like we have a little over an inch of snow as I am typing, Wind is huffing around trying to get up a big blow but seems it can only gasp a bit right now. Some of these cities in the Southern USA have gotten more snow than they can handle. They don't usually get snow storms and do not have the equipment to scoop, shovel and pile.
