I seem to have 'greasy' eye lids. What I mean by this is after an hour with eye shadow on, it will all crease in thew crease and my lid will seem oily. Is there something that really works to keep my lids dry...like a concealer or something?

If you use foundation that has oily residue in it. So my suggestion would be to use powder foundation and the eyeshadow also should be powder as well.

Yes, maybe that would work.

Good Day! I think it also depends on the type of eyeshadow because there are some eye shadows that smears easily or you must cover your eyelids with thicker coverage of foundation so that grease from your eye lids wouldn't make your eye shadow smear. :

Mine are a little on the oily side as well. I find that just putting foundation on my lids gives the eyeshadow something to "sit" on. A little translucent powder helps to. There are some eyeshadow primers on the market but Ive never tried any because Im worried they may be a bit of a waste of money and not really do anythong my foundation wont.

hi i use maybelline and its a powder and first I do apply a light dust of face powder then apply my eye shadow and it doesnt get greasy at all but the cream eye shadows are awful they just gunk up your eye lids'the colors are pretty but the oil is horrid.I never used them again. they look awful in just an hour. they are cheaper but the powder lasts longer so it evens out. Revlon is another really good eyeshadow to use.

I do have some face powder....I will try putting the face powder on my lids before putting on the shadow. I hope this works.

One of my best friends used to have this problem. After a bit of trial and error, she found that if she used a natural cleanser beforehand, that it made a big difference. The cleanser will apparently reduce the surface oil and tighten the pores. Then she would use a concealer brush very lightly(I have no idea what it is, but I know it worked). After allowing the concealer to set for a minute or two, she would apply her eyeshadow. She said that it would last much longer, even on her skin! Hope this helps :)

Have you tried using eyeprimer? You could put it on your eyelids before you put on any eyeliner or eyeshadow, then the eyeshadow should stay on and not get greasy. Trust me I have the same problem as you.

What is eye primer? Is it a powder...or a cream?

Do you use a powder? That's what I use..I don't know if that would help or maybe putting some sort of powder under the shadow you use might help...otherwise I don't know.

I think I would be changing brands of eyeshadow. Some people's skin types are oilier than others. I think ALmay is nice and there are afew others.

I had this problem for many years, if i used a color cream I followed with a clear power, if I used a power color I had less problems but still covered with a clear power.

I think that this might depend on what kind of eye shadow you are using and also whether or not you are sensitive to one of the ingredients in your eye shadow. I've never seemed to have that kind of a problem with my eye shadow (on the rare occasions that I am wearing makeup). However, my skin tends to go on the dryer side of things and the only time that it ever seems like my skin is oily is when I have been sweating a lot.
