Mind, Oh...mind...*grin* My wonder eyes always stop at those who scratch their 'private area' in the PUBLIC! Why can't these people do it in 'unseen places' OR should I suggest a more appropriate place and NOT in the public??? The worse part, after they have scratched their private area, their hair, nose or armpit, the next thing is those hands will landed on their NOSE! andddd..OMG....(puke) This is just not right! No offense...I just found this very unpleasant. What's more it's in the PUBLIC.

I agree it is very unpleasant to see. I don't go out to see people scratch them selves in public. Go to the toilet to scratch if you have to please.

Its always males i see doing this. Yesterday while riding the bus this guy gets on. He is wearing jeans with holes in them. He is wearing sweats under them. One of the holes is right you know where in the front. When he sat down something sweatpant covered buldged out of the jean hole there. You could not help but look before having to turn away. I do not know if he knew what was going on there or not. I cant imagine how he didnt know. Kind of like when you are wearing a sock with a hole it it and your toe pops out. You know it.

Thats what im saying, how could he not know??? Maybe its his twisted way of attracting females. Just like you couldnt help but notice the sweat pants popping out of that hole. You glance quickly and try to ignore. Look out the window and pretend you didnt see.

Oh dear... How come he have a hole at "that place" and it's not noticeable? Could it be done on purpose? But, you're lucky to see such a thing took place haha~~ (just kidding)

I don't remember seeing any one scratch privates in public but last year I saw a police man riding in a circle with his finger stuck in his nose.

It's mostly a ghetto and young men (late teens/early 20s) thing.

It is indeed immoral and unpleasant. I usually observe that same thing with the men standing by, waiting for cabs or sitting on a bench. When they do the digging in their nose, they will mostly wipe it somewhere else. GROSS! Smelling it after they do the thing is really disgusting. But I think it will be more disgusting for my eyes if I saw them putting their fingers used for scratching inside their mouth. LOL Just kidding! No innocent person would do that right?

I cannot help but wonder why it seems that the guys are the culprit from some of the response? Don't the ladies do that too? While the habit is indeed unacceptable, we must not forget there may be health conditions that is causing their discomfort. Unless we know why they are not able to find a more convenient place before the act, we are assuming that it should be bearable for them, which may not be the case. We all may have habits other find deplorable, but lest we start to judge others, maybe we should learn not to look at the act since the act is so unacceptable to us. If the person really does scratch somewhere or dig his nose or something similar and extends his hand for a good firm shake, I trust you will know how to excuse the reciprocal. Just to clarify, I don't do any of this in public. I am not defending myself. But who knows, what if I should end up with similar medical conditions, maybe I will look back at this article and be thankful I state my case upfront first.

We won't know practically if the someone has the "special" condition or not. Easiest way is if you should note that someone is about to start a performance, look the other way. I hope the person did not invite you to observe his stellar presentation. I do like this topic. I have been following your topic, and Jackie, you give very good discussion topics. Keep it up. You're treasured.

Hey tiffnkeat, It's understandable if someone has a medical condition and it is unbearable. That is totally acceptable. Yet, I dont think anyone will be comfortable knowing that someone who has a "special" medical condition and watching him/her scratching herself down there.

sunnycool, This is the worse case senario! Not washing hands after the toilet and then have their hands for food, that's too crazy! Your mate must be a loser in life. Sad to say this out :(

Yep, none of us want to see that. And no one would want to be seen doing that. At least anyone with any decency. Which really could be a problem. There are not that many people with decency. Still it does disturb me. Especially just some of the circumstances. If I can only unsee what I just saw. Now where did I put that brain bleach.

Oh God!!!! I see that as an everyday occurrence in India. I do understand that they have a problem - well, not knowing that 'scratching your private area in public' is not socially acceptable for one. How can we educate these kind of people, who just are not aware of socially acceptable behavior? If we all tell them that is just gross, would they stop? Or it would take more than that? Like pointing and laughing at them everytime we see them?

hi Marcia2011, Crazy but it's true, there are many people out there just responded whatever they feels and would rather "just do it" regardless of where they are. I have somehow suggested an insect repellent. Probably they have fleas underneath there, somewhere....;)

It's tragic that nowadays some people lose their capability to respect the next, acting like their beings were the most important, needless of consequences. Nothing matter to those people but their lifes, and this is why the new generations that are coming, are getting the worse example ever. And as long as it keep on going this way, there will be consequences.
