This week in school we have been sitting GCSE mocks. They are meant for students to prepare for the real exams, which we will take in about three months. During these test I have suffered an unfortunate awakening. I don't know how to prepare for them. I have never been the type of person to study as I easily get board but my future almost entirely depends on the eight tests I will be doing. I have taken my Math GCSE (don't know what I got yet) and parts of my Geography (2 A stars) and business (A and B). The problem is that I enjoy the above subjects the most so it was easy to review. Do any myLotters have tips from previous experiences? I really need help!

Whenever we were having quarterly exams, I usually review my lessons a day or two before the examination. When we had our mock test and some Achievements test, I studied the given reviewer the day or three before the examination. I can review and memorize my lessons easily because I was given a high intelligence quotient. I could memorize a long poem in 30 minutes to one hour.

I'm usually good at memorizing the topic but when I it comes up again I am totally blank. That's why I need to change my habits. I studied for about half an hour on my last physics test, got an A and now I don't remember what was on it. Yesterday I was I was clueless for the mock.
Thanks

I'm also not a good learner but I always try to.
I have a good strategy for study but i don't know whether it can works with another or not.
I always try to collect as many as possible the previous exams paper and answer it completely in a book. When I've already finished on answering I'll buy a new book and try to answer it again (without writing them in full answer, just giving the key sentences).
It is hard to remember all of the syllabus whereas only few of them will come to the exam. So, by collecting as many as possible of the previous exams and answer all of the questions, I can learn some of the material in the syllabus (but not all). I think this is enough for me to remember some portions in the syllabus rather than the whole because my memory is limited and if I force to remember all, I will forget another material which I've remembered.
And try to study by involving more than one sense. Like you read loudly while you're reading.

I too go to my teachers to get papers from past exams. That's one of the few ways that helps me remember it. I kinda cheat by getting the answer papers, writing the answers on my clean page then study from what I know is right. Then again, people learn in different ways.
