Hi there asliah!
Actually,I really don't know how to control it for I haven't experienced controling it,lol! I really don't mind sneezing in public. For as long as I cover my mouth with a handkerchief,it's fine with me and to the people around me 'cause I'm not spreading the virus to them, lol!
See you around friend!

This is a very valid point as it is common to spread viral infections by not covering as we sneeze and or cough. Something people do not consider after coughing and or sneezing into their hand then turn around and shake others hands.
I also believe that it is important not to hold back when we need to sneeze as the body can only hold in so much pressure. See you around the Lot!

Very true my friend! We should be responsible for our own "sickness" not to spread the virus to others!
Have a great day my friend!

In all honesty when I have to sneeze I sneeze, I try to cover my moth and nose so that I do not create a loud noise but when it has to come out I do. I have never given a sneeze something to consider as an embarrassing moment, let alone ashamed.
Except when someone sneezed so loud that is sounds like a train, now that is funny.

Hello my sweet friend.
I so agree about viral spreading as there are some who do not even cover as they cough
Hope all is well on your end and I do miss you as well.

Hello friend!
I agree with you, there's nothing really to be ashamed of with sneezing 'cause it's just natural for one to sneeze. I guess it would really be embarrassing if we sneeze without covering our mouth for the virus will scatter around, lol!
Miss you friend! Nice to see you again!

One easy way to control a sneeze is to push the side of the forefinger hard up on the base of the nose (between the nostrils). This is very effective and will control most sneezes. It is very useful when driving a car because a sneeze effectively blinds you for a second or more and, during that time, your car will travel, perhaps, a hundred feet (depending on your speed).

What it actually does is to stop the urge to sneeze. It doesn't put pressure on the chest, as holding your breath does, so it should be better for your heart than actually sneezing, which is a violent action.

You were so great that you did stop sneezing back to then. Sometimes I can control not to sneeze, but not always. If I have to sneeze before other people, I always cover my mouth when doing so and lower my head. I do not want to be considered to be rude. If it is in my own house, I do not try to control to sneeze at all because I feel very comfortable sneezing. It all depends on the scenario. Thanks for the discussion.

Ohhh yes this is a good way to control the sneezing and I control it when somebody going from home because our family members say if someone is going from home then sneezing is not good. Not control on public place but cover the mouth when sneezing.

You can't stop a sneeze, sure, you can hold one off but if it wants to come through there is nothing you can do to stop it. If you try to keep your eyes open they will automatically shut because your heart stops. If you hold your nose you will blow out your eardrums. Just let yourself sneeze, you'll feel better anyway.

I can't stand it when I can't control my sneezing. it doesn't happen to me often. A lot of times it happens when I am around a lot of dust or woodsmoke. When the sneezing comes, it seems like it will last forever. Then as suddenly as it comes, it is gone.

I love the feeling after sneezing. LOL
Can't tell if I can control it but if you did it by holding your breath maybe I can as well. Sneezing is not an embarrassment, what I cam consider one is when you sneeze without kerchief and you accidentally spurt your saliva to someone.

I cannot control my sneezing as I think it is a reflex.
what I can only do is to cover my mouth.
I think that is the proper way not to annoy others and spread whatever germs that comes out of the mouth when you sneeze in public.
Haaaaaatchuuuu ! ! !

Lol, that situation can come to anyone and in that case I think you have the right to sneeze anywhere. It is something which we can't control when we are captured with cold.
So my suggestion is this that don't try to control it but sneeze as loud as you can.

Whoah. I never thought there are ways to control sneezing. From what I know, we always close our eyes when we sneeze...
So maybe if we try to control our eyes by not closing it, maybe we can halt sneezing. ^^
