Muslims Blocking The Street - Why?

Few weeks I got a call from a woman who needed her computer fixed so I grabbed my bike and went for a spin. I wasn't really driving all too fast when I suddenly saw men kneeling on the cycling path in front of the local Mosque. I had to brake like a maniac in order not to shovel them to death. So I went off my bike and asked them what the heck they were doing on the cycle path. They wouldn't answer, could either be they don't speak Dutch ( very likely) or they were in deep prayer ( probably), when I asked again one men came scooting towards me saying I should shut up or be punched in the face so I was like: 'whatever' and drove on... I don't feel like going for a ride to the hospital. What on earth is going on in the minds of those people to pray on the cycle path? What would you do?

Police are pro-immigrants and they only respond to emergencies nowadays. This isn't an emergency so sure as hell they won't show up and they'll beat me up.

Having my bike stolen is illegal too and yet they won't jot down my report. Calling because people are screaming "Hamas hamas, all jews on gas." is illegal too and yet the police men are too busy eating donuts...

I guess it was the time of one of their daily prayers, but the question is why did they choose the bicycle path?If that was done on purpose, then the country has big troubles. If that was just a misunderstanding, you might still have a hope.

JerusalemFolk I am glad you're here. You know how I feel and I know how you feel. Geert Wilders is our savior, but also of the world, if he manages to stay alive for a couple of years longer he'll show the world that Islam equals huge trouble however only 15% of voters see this and the only thing Muslims see is Wilders with a bullet in his head. I'll tell you one thing the moment I have enough money to leave this country I'll be sure as hell gone!

For me it is the trek so that they feel important and they are called to be good to have strong faith to God.

Messing with them wouldn't be a great idea as they were praying.I would have taken other way around than to disturb their prayer .. at the same time it wasn't that fair on their behalf to threaten you which would have irked me.

Don't get into a religious disagreement with them. In my country, we advocate religious tolerance. For your own safety, it is best to turn away. You are also alone. Numbers alone would tell you, whatever religion the other party is, to be safe. It really could be any religion so it is best not to generalise about a particular faith.

I advocate religious tolerance when my beliefs are tolerated and they're clearly not so no tolerance for me. Next time I'll bump into them with my bike.

Maybe the mosque was filled to capacity and since they wanted to be part of the congregation, they decided to pray to pray there. I mean its not like he had occupied it for good like sellers, vendors etc. I really don't think its such a big deal!!

It is a big deal since praying outside is a demonstration. Demonstration in the Netherlands have to be reported 24 hours before the begin of the demonstration. Failure to do so and continuing the demonstration is ground for immediate arrest with force when deemed necessary. I even would have the legal right to arrest those people as a citizen under section 53 of the code of law and section 73 of the penal code. Not only that, it's also endangering people driving on the cycle path and it's also provocative... so yes I believe it's a HUGE deal. Muslims already have more rights than non-Muslims here...

i will stay away from them as much as i can... i don't want to get involved when it comes to politics or religions... they are very sensitive issues and better to stay safe rather than be sorry later on... especially if i am by myself at that time and there are many of them... take care and have a nice day...

Maybe they were too many and needed more space tp pray. I would notice the difference between a prayer and a demonstration. About Wilder, I read about him for the first time today. Among other Things, I read "In January 2009, the Amsterdam Court of Appeal ordered Wilders' prosecution for "incitement to hatred and discrimination".[14] Wilders was banned from entering the United Kingdom between 12 February 2009 and 13 October 2009 by the then Labour government, the Home Office saying his presence would be a "threat to one of the fundamental interests of society". It doesn´t speak well of the man or his followers.

Same as you my friend as not because they were muslims but because I would not want to end up in the emergency room either. Apparently the person that said for you to be quiet and or be punched basically was not going to listen to reasoning. So I too would have tolled away on my bike out the way.
