Do you still take time to visit your parents?

I am currently a working girl, and I live far from my parents. I love going out with my friends, shopping at the mall, traveling to places that interest me. I love going out! But I never forget to visit my parents even if it's costly to fly to their place and back here where I currently live. Once a month, I make it a point to visit them and buy them things. Just to share with you guys, I get very happy whenever I see them looking at me with starry eyes as if they miss me a lot. They always prepare great food whenever they know I'm coming home, and I feel all drama about it! Ha-ha. I really love my parents. :)

hello sweet, That's really nice of you to spend time with your parents. Even if you are a busy buddy you still took time to visit your parents regularly. I also lived far from my parents and siblings and i only got a chance to be with them once in a year. My mom is living abroad and visits every summer,so we always spend the whole summer with my parents and siblings. I do the cooking whenever our mom comes home,it's my destination (the kitchen) i loved it,i love cooking anyway so it's not a problem, and i am spared from washing the dishes (hahaha, which i hate the most) It's good to spend sometime with our loved ones,it's a bonding moment that lasts a lifetime. Have a great day

it's nice that you return the favor of cooking. Your mom probably likes seeing that you are capable of taking care of your family.

Good for you. I can't visit my mom because she is abroad. And as much as I want to see her, I can't just go there and visit her like that. It will cost me much. Text messaging is our common thing and calling sometimes. As for my father (my parents broke up when I was a kid), I get to visit him with his family once a year. But I take time to send a text message or call him just to let him know I miss him.

That is very sweet and nice that you do that. When my mom was still alive (I didn't really know my father very well), I used to go over and visit her on most Sundays. We would watch football together or just talk, she would sometimes make some kind of food or my wife and I would go and get something for everyone and bring it back to the house. I miss those days, and my mom.

Careful of the phrase 'working girl', as it usually means something else in other places. There was a time when I lived an hour and a half plane ride away from my parents. That usually meant I get to go home 2 or 3 times a year, and enjoy homecoming visits. Currently, I live half way around the world from my parents. As much as I want to visit them regularly, it's just way too expensive. And takes way too much time. I try to call them up though regularly.

I normally see my parents about twice a year. I'm going to college out of state right now and I normally make it a point to visit sometime in the summer. I also go during winter break for Christmas and get to see the whole family then. It's great.

I'm working out of town and it's a little bit expensive if i visit them every month. I live far from them since high school so i kind get used to the feeling of not seeing them everyday but when i was still in high school, i visit them every week. during college, every month. now that i'm working, every once or twice a year. i miss them. i miss my little nephew and niece. I call them every week though and say goodnight during odd hours since i work at night and sometimes i forget i say goodnight in the morning when i'm about to sleep. and they would laugh about it. i'm planning to go home this year again. my last was back in July of 2010. hopefully my sister will go home with me so we can have some party back there.

Sure, because for me, parents comes first. I know I work outside the island and the cost to go back home is really expensive, besides, when you are working, you could not just go back without permission. I only have 12 day off so I manage the time to go back home. I gather the money so that I can go back to meet them Sometimes when i can't meet them, I just call them by phone and that's the fastest way to keep connected with them.

Hi dear, Parental love is the love which I feel the great one. The love towards our parents should be unconditional and I appreciate your desire to meet them. It can be expensive, we have to spend a lot and money spends for travel and all. After doing all, a few moments of happiness and sharing the time with them is the pleasures that we gets. Even though sometime it may not be so practical to be always with them. But as you did, whenever get time we should meet them and they love it and we also get double love and affection in greater details. Your words says how much you love your parents. Thank-s

Since having my children I visit my parents much more and they come to see me and their grandchildren often, my parents both work long hours though and I will be back at work next months so even though we live closely it can be hard to find the time but I really should try harder. My husband visits with his parents every Sunday and also sometimes through the week, they are retired and in their mid 70's so he is always scared of how much time he has left with them so visits as much as he can.

Luckily I still live in the same city with my parents,so I have the chance to see them everyday and I think it would be difficult for me to stay away from them;I think people who live closely to their parents are lucky, except for the case when you're married and you have to live under the same roof with them.Anyway,it's god to know that your parents are close.

I also work in a far away place from our home before and I can only go home and visit my parents once a month. I also bring them presents especially fruits and foods so that they will feel happy and appreciated. Everyday I will text them about my good condition because I don't want them to worry about me, it helps that they know I'm doing good in the place where I am working. Now I am at our house everyday and still working good thing is I can also see my parents everyday as well. Feel their loving gestures and happy smile. I am just glad and contented to be home. I will not work in a far away place again.

I cannot visit my parents like I really want to. I am the caregiver for my son and I don't have a vehicle I can get him in to go see them. They come by here about twice a month. I love my parents too - but I don't have the opportunity like you do! Take advantage of it!

Parents will always appreciate our visits even though we are now living independently away from them. I make it a point to go home as often as I can as well. Besides spending time with them, it's also a destressor for me as the environment is different. The time goes by oh so slowly (this is the best I love), it's way simpler and laid back and most of all, it's away from the busy city.

I am happy to see that you have reverance for the relationship you have with your parents and thanks for sharing. My parents are no longer in this world but my siblings and I always took time to go back home to visit our parents. My parent's home was always my home also regardless of where i physically lived. Many people do not visit their parents regualarly. I believe we should all spend time with our parents since they will not be around forever. We don't want to regret spending time with them when its too late. As the father of a grown daughter and grand daughter, it always does my heart good when she stops by for a visit and even happier when she brings my grand child. She is a good daughter. Good for you being a good daughter to your parents.

You got a close family ties. I have a very close one though but then too bad that i don't have parents now. But if they were alive i would be doing the same thing as you do. I love my family so much especially my parents. I cannot imagine not visiting them or seeing them regularly if we are all living in the same country.

You do love your parents so much. They should be so proud of you! I myself, is already a married one. Though i live in the city with my own family, i would always go to our place whenever i have the time. Would you believe that i had a flu the other day, but the next day after we had attended the mass, i proceeded to our parents house where some of my sister and their family lives also. The joy i would feel is so touching, once i get to go there. It's as if a part of me is being recharged.
