what kind of business can i start?

Okay, here's my dilemma. I would like to start a business. I would like to work from home. I do not want my business to be online. What can i do?

Well you have to think about what skills you have....my sister's friend's mom cuts hair out of her home, and she is really good at it. She also makes jewelry and sells it.
Are you good with animals? You could start a dog bathing/grooming company out of your home. And even if you don't have those necessary skills right now, you can take a course to learn how to bathe and cut dogs hairs, do their nails and clean their teeth...a lot of pet owners care about their animals a lot, so this could be a good business to get into.

Yes, I agree that it depends very much on your skills, and also your interests. Try to think about what you are good at, and what you can offer others. This will give you the answer!

I'm glad I could help Risa!! When I start my own business it will definitely revolve around helping animals. I love them! :) But I also have a business idea that will help people at the same time. Right now I'm in college majoring in business

What are your talents? You are supposed to go after what is your passion..and then you will be successful..if you are a good baker offer baked goods...if you are good at house cleaning..or organizing then offer those serves! Just find something you are good at....but you will probably have to leave home at sometime..how about decorating cakes?

Long sigh.... what i really like to do is write. Which unfortunately for me, is an 'online' type of business. But i'm sure if i think about it hard enough, i could come up with something else that i'd like to do-something else i may be good at. That's why i posted this question-so you guys can help me brainstorm. :)

It is important to know first your interest and especially have passion on it. Because without the two you cannot be succeed. Think of business that is commonly done by your family and even businesses that evolves around you. It is a great advantage that you already know the background of a certain business you are going to enter in order to run it successfully and to avoid problem from it.

Why is it you do not want to start a business online? I am doing online business right now and happy with what I am doing and I am wondering why you don't like online business?
Since you don't want to start an online business, I suggest you try start a food business where you can do from home, and then market it outside your home. You can try make some delicious snacks, package it very well, and then distribute them outside.

I don't want to work online because i'm sort of 'addicted' to the internet. Once i get on, i can't get off. It's a big time waster for me. That's why i want a business that won't have me staring into the glare of the computer screen.
I like your food idea, though i don't like standing in the kitchen for long periods. I do like to cook though.
