Do you make a comment of any kind, including Thank you for responding, on the responses that you receive on your discussion topics. I do. I check at least once an hour to see if anyone has responded and if so respond to it. I also rate the responses and choose the best response. Do you?

When I log on to my lot the first thing I check is discussions I've started. That way if someone has left a response I can thank them or share a thought. It seems only right. I will even leave a comment when the response is a one word response.Which bothers me,even if your answer is "no" or "yes" you can always go into more detail.

Me too.....after that I go to to those that I have responded to see if the originator responded.....and if appropriate will add another comment even though it's for free. Thanks for yourinput.

We all have our own opinions....some agree with us some of us don't. I always like to hear another opinion. While most of the time I don't agree, there have been times when I can see another side of the story from a different angle. I try always to keep an open mind. Thanks for responding.

I do it too. By doing so, it shows your respect and care for others' comments on your discussion.

I agree wholeheardly. But somehow I get the feeling, looking at some of the discussion topics, that quantity is more important than quality. Thanks for responding.

I don't get why do people say thank you for your reply and that's it.. they should talk about what the other user posted. If we just say Thanks and that's it.. then there is no point in mylot. Talk people that's why u guys are on a forum from crying out loud. all my respects gifana.

I wholeheartedly agree. I suffer from an uncurable disease (diahrrea of the fingers.....and the mouth) and just seem to be unable to stop once I get started. I try to write at least one sentence that perhaps relevant. If people can take an interest in my discussions they I feel an obligation to respond. It's only fair.

I know what you mean...I, too, have several that I go no response from. However, just the other day I answered a discussion from my friends list that had been made previously and I got a response to one of mine that I had submitted a few days before. By reponding to an old discussion it brings it to the discussions list again. Thanks for response.

Maybe I misunderstand how this site works, but if I answered every response to one of my discussions, I would feel like it was a waste of mylot and my own time. I don't mean that rude, but I rarely go back and read the answers to any of my discussion answers.

Of course that it is your choice but you will find that it against the reason of the site. We should be here to raise questions or make statements that can be commented on. Then the person who starts the discussion can go back and agree or disagree with the response.....and courteously thank the responder for his input. Then the responder can go back and rebutt. Also anyone else to wants to respond to a comment made may due so and receive credit for one comment on a comment per discussion. I check all the responses to each of my discussions to see if something has been added to my response. Might I add, though, if you are here for the money only then in my opinion you are rude in that you are not following the spirit of the site. Thanks for dropping in.

I generally make some sort of comment, depending on what the response is. Sometimes it is just a "thank you for responding" but I feel that an acknowledgement is better than nothing at all. I know that commenting on responses does not get us anymore money, but that is not what it is all about. I think myLot is about interacting with others and so sometimes a good discussion can start from making a comment to a response.

Sometimes I add a comment and sometimes I don't because if another person has already covered the point, then I don't think that it is necessary for me to add anymore to it. :)

Good response. When you read the responses in others' discussions do you ever add your two cents to the responses? I always do if I think it is pertinent. Thanks for dropping in and thanks for your input.

Absolutely. I go over the discussions that I started once or twice a day and comment on all responses. I rate the ones I think have a little thought behind them (or a little wit or even sarcasm), and I always choose a best response after the discussion has slowed down a bit.

Good show. When I comment on a discussion I check most of the previous entries to make sure I'm not grinding a good thing into the ground. I rate those I think worthy of a + and no rating if its just a one or two word comment. I rate all my discussions using the same criteria. If your comment hasn't received a rating then in my mind it didn't deserve it.

I used to answer everyone who replied to my discussions. Most of the time it was just a thank you because I did not know what else to reply. then I read the mylot rules and it states that you should not reply to people that have responded to your discussions with just a thank you. So I quit doing that. Now I will just reply to those people that I actually have something to reply about.

I'm actually a little disappointed if some one doesn't acknowledge my response in some way or another. Even if it is just "Thank you" at least I know they read it.

Yes, I do go back and reply to the responses. I try not to let it go to long, but in the beginning I didn't keep up very well. It is in the guidelines that you are expected to reply to each of your responses, even if it is just to say thank you. Also, somehow, you do earn more by doing so. It also regenerates your topic through the discussions of the day. I also agree it is the considerate/polite thing to do. If someone has taken the time to respond to your discussion, you need to acknowledge that. I try too to continue the conversation with more than just "Thank you for the reply." Unless of course it is just a yes or no answer that was given to me. I like people to back up their thoughts and opinions too. Have a great afternoon. This is a good topic.

That answer deserves more than a "thank you for response"...hehehe. You are right on all accounts. Means you have less time to answer others discussions somethings gotta give somewhere. Of course, if you don't write a book on each comment you respond to like I do then it's a snap. It's almost 10pm here so I'll say have a good evening.

I'm not sure if I do or not get credit for it. To me it's beside the point. I just like to show those who have taken the time to respond that I read what they had to say and agree or disagree with them. Thanks for your response.

You're so right. However I see that many of my discussion are passed over because it might take some thought, although I try to create discussions that might have some interest at all levels. Muito obrigado, beijinhos for you. I'm quite pleased with this one. It's the one that has received the most responses. Thanks for your response.

I like bantering with some of those who respond. I think it livens things up. I try not to offend anyone by doing this just like people to laff. We're here to have a good time and hopefully to learn something about people and what they think. They may not agree on some things but difference of opinions makes the world go round and certainly more interesting. Thanks for responding. PS: It's a good thing I'm a fast typer or I could never talk as much as I do and still have time to make comments on others discussions.

I try my best - but I don't always get around to it. I think it looks a bit stupid when all people say is "Thank you for responding" - a bit meaningless you know? I prefer to take the time to respond properly to comments made - because I gt irritated if someone just says thanks for responding.

Sometimes it's hard to think of smething that doesn't make us look stupid. But any comment might add something no matter how trivial....as long as it pertains to the discussion. Thanks for response.

yeah i rate posts.. i try to comment on some as well. but on the nonsense ones, ill just say "cool.. or thanks! or nice to know" coz i can't really expound anymore when posts dont make any sense. when people would see how many replies there are in the topic, they're also enticed to reply :) so its a good thing :)

How right you are. My sentiments exactly. Although I try to be courteous to those who respond for whatever reason. On those that have nothing to say I try to think of a question that might induce them to expound or retaliate. Thanks for your response.

Yes, I always check discussions I have started and try to respond to each poster in person. I always rate everything, good answers get a +, silly answers get a -. I also rate the entire discussion (in this case you) if I think it is intresting. Anyone actually ever reported a poster to mylot because they were putting up so many silly questions?

I also rate the answers if they have something to day. However, I seldom give anyone a - answer. At least I know that they looked at my discussion and perhaps read some of the comments others made. If they learned anything from the comments then it's a point in their favor. Thanks for response.
