There isn't enough time in a day!

Do you ever feel like this? Like there just aren't enough hours in a day to do everything you hope to accomplish?
That's how I'm feeling lately. I've made a number of goals this year, which so far I'm doing well with, but I do find it difficult to fit everything in each day.
One of my goals was to lose some weight again. After reaching my goal weight I added a little weight back on, so I've been pushing myself to get to the gym everyday to work out. Well, that eats up my entire morning.. I go right after I drop the kids off at school, work out for an hour and half, pick up my preschooler, and we get home just before noon.
Then I have my typical chores, making lunch, doing dishes and laundry, etc. So that takes up a little time as well.
One of my other goals was to try to be more active on some of my earning sites, as I'm saving all my online earnings this year towards Christmas (so it doesn't suck like this last one did!). So I have a number of sites to check on, watch videos, do searches, participate in discussions.. etc etc. This takes up quite a bit of time.
Then I have school work as I've just started an Online college last week. I'm currently taking 3 classes, and each class is 7.5 weeks long. That's a lot of learning to squeeze into such a short amount of time. Each class has online discussions (graded as participation), homework, lectures to read, sometimes videos to watch, textbook reading assignments, quizzes, tests, and weekly summaries. This week I had to create a PowerPoint presentation for one of my classes! One of my other classes is math.. which is not my strong subject, so it takes me a lot of time to get through the work as I have to go through it a few times before I understand it.
I'm also actively seeking a job.. so I have to spend some time everyday filling out applications, searching Craigslist for opportunities, sending my resume. I can only imagine how much more "cramped" my day will feel once I am working.. though I realize if I get a job some other things will have to be put on hold, most likely that will be going to the gym daily (I can cut back to once or twice a week) and my online earnings (visit each site once a week instead of daily).
I need to stay focused and mainly work on the things that are important each day, like right now aside from the family and household chores, my important tasks each day are school work and job searching. Yet here I sit on Mylot... silly me!

It sure sounds like you've got a pretty full day! I thought I was busy! But you sound pretty organized and that plus consistency are both keys to success. I don't know how you'll cram all that in if you start a full time job!

Originally I just wanted a part time job.. and honestly that's still all I want. But finding any sort of job is so difficult that I'm applying for just about any open position that looks good, and will accept the first job offered to me.

I fully understand that. I have been looking at ways to work but since I take care of my son it's really not a possibiity. We have talked about all of us moving into one house so my daughter could work and I could sit with the baby and then I could do something part time and they could sit with my son.

Most of the time I enjoy being busy. It sure is a change from the usual.. sitting here trying to figure out what to do next. Still it gets a little overwhelming, especially in the beginning of the week when I have so much school work to accomplish and wonder if I can get it all done in a week.

i can perfectly understand what you mean... it happened to me in the past when i was still working and studying... but i think you are an incredible person and you are much busier than me... your schedule is also very packed everyday... i don't know whether i can handle it as well if i am in your position... anyway, all the best for everything... take care and have a nice day...

Thanks. I'm noticing towards the end of the week when most of my school work is complete that I'm not as busy. Today, all my school work is complete except one summary for math class. I feel more relaxed now knowing I don't have to try to squeeze too much school work into my day.

Even though I am staying at home right now, and I do not have kids it still seems that I do not have enough time for everything either. You are making great plans, and I would say your school work is your priority because it will be a lifelong advantage. I am trying to figure how to afford a membership at the YMCA, because I do not exercise enough at home. I have to do something about my weight and health. I know you will do what you need to to succeed.

Did you ask them about their reduced rates? I only have to pay half a typical membership fee due to my finances. They offer this for a lot of people. Sometimes they call it a "scholarship".. ask them if they have such a thing. You'll have to give them proof, like tax returns or pay stubs or something.. but it's usually rather uncomplicated and it saves money!

No, I still do not have a job. I had an interview but did not get the job. Though I went to fill out an application today and that looks promising. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

Sometimes I feel that too. When it comes to workplace, I really feel that time flies fast and sometimes towards the end of the working day I was thinking I need more time so I can finish more tasks. I could've asked for extra hours but sometimes not granted. Well there is nothing much I can do, except to wait until tomorrow morning when I start working again.

Heck, there is never enough time. Just to catch up on my backlogged reading, I'd probably need a few years off of work. Never mind keeping up with the things I have todo...

You seem well organised Kat so do not be hard on yourself. You have your priorities in place and you have a plan. I am fragmented and not sleeping well at all The Annual General Meeting is being held next week and I will be facing hostility from the brother of the Prime Minister of this country. I am agitated over this and am not getting through my work well at all. Next Wednesday is looming ahead of me and I do not relish being embarrassed publicly in front of all the owners. I am praying soi hard that I can keep cool and do not burst into tears

Yes every single day of my life. Or at least for the past five or six days. It just seems like that there is just so much to do in life. And not enough time to do it at all. And let's face it, I'm an obsessive compulsive time management person and also an obsessive compulsive multitasker. And I'm still struggling to everything done that I want to do done. I can just imagine those who do not do these things. So yeah, a lot of time and it seems to just disappear into nothing. Such is life.

Hi! I agree with you, time flies so fast. It seems everyday a person needs to hurry to get things done in a period of time. Anyone doing nothing or spending it wisely, can't stop even seconds of his or her time. We live in our generation now where things done instantly. We must prioritize our time properly and spend quality time to the things that is really important with our lives. Two words to describe it. Time Management. Happy mylotting.

Oh my! Same here dear friend. 24 hours is entirely not enough for me. I think I need atleast 48 hours in a day to get things done. So I really try to prioritize which should come first. I try to manage my time between my full-time job, my part-time online selling and its marketing, my service ministry, a bit of house chores and quality time with family and friends which is quite essential. But my work and business really take a lot of time. I need to complete my full 8 hours of work and oops I remember, it's because of the traffic here that's why. Then update all my online brochures so I won't get behind my target sales. =))

I also feel the same way. It's like a day is not enough for eating, sleeping, exercise, visiting my online earnings (25 sites a day hahaha!),watching television, playing video games, looking for work etc. hahaha You feel that a day just past by your hand in a jiffy! I think Time management is the key... which I suck at hehehe

Yes, I feel like this at times. In fact, everyday I plan some things to do but at the end of the day, they are incomplete. I will do it tomorrow is what I tell myself, but next day the same thing happens. I don't know where the day has gone. But I haven't lost hope. I know, I will do it some day.

No there is never enough time in a day and if there were, I don't know if I'd have the energy for it. I have a ton of homework due on Monday and I am working seven days a week. Of course my two girls keep me on my toes and then there is my b/f..thank goodness he helps me out so much.
Don't worry about being on Mylot..you need a couple of moments of fun...I know I do. Take care and try not to over do it..it's easy to do when you are wishing for those extra hours.

Hi Katsmeow,
Your post was an interesting read.
My opinion is that you ARE focussed at your goals, cos you are at 'my lot' now and one of your goals was to increase your online earnings. So, you are on the job and the next step is to allocate time to each of your goals. The time allocated will depend upon the goal-of course!
But if you want it to work (your plan) you have to be realistic. Go on! Divide your task between your goals and chores and then go about accomplishing them! I think you'll find it easier to do-what-you-plan-to do.
