At times I had put up some discussions that I am sure I may not get many responds. Only thing is that I just want to know what those suggestions I would get. Also soon I could select a best responds. Moreover I feel that putting a discussion topic is another way of marketing. Finding and put a cache topic which gets many responds. There are few discussions that have zero responds, but there are discussions which there is only few may be one or two responds. But those responds I feel for me they are quality responds. I love to take risk in putting some unique topics, just experimenting whether I would get a nice, useful, quality and something more than these.

Hello Sham,
As you know that, I am not starting many discussions but start a topic once in a week. Sometimes the frequency is more than that. I wish to give some gap in between my topics so that I can attend my responders as well as the topics from my friends too. I never bothered about the number responses, I am happy with whatever I get. In fact serious issues are always getting less number of responses.

That is nice one to give a discussion per week. Other time spend for responding. This reminded me of leading movie stars, they act may be one or two or just very few movies in a year and that would be a great hit. Like Kamal Hasan, Rajani Kanth, Mamootty, Mohanlal so on.

Putting up discussions in myLot is indeed a way of getting others' opinions. If you get a response for some topic you dont think others would like, then good. It just means someone is still interested in what you have to say. I do put out discussions that I dont think will get others to respond. But I do that mainly to get that thought or feeling out of my system. myLot for me is like my diary. It's good when someone comments on it. But it isn't too bad also if I dont get any response. Really what matters to me is I get it out of my system.

Hi, shamrack, most time i put up discussion because i got a question. And i need help from mylotters. One good aspect of mylot is that most people are warmhearted and are willing to help others. Some questions are about mylot itself, some are not. I also put up questions when i want to know more about life and working between different cultures and countries. This is another great aspects of mylot. We are coming from different places. And it is these differences makes our life more colorful.
Of course, i will feel a little bad if no one notice my posts. So i am very careful in putting them. Try making my english being understood by others. Up untill now, of all my posts, i only have one discussion with zero answer.

I do not start very many discussions on myLot as I am one who will not put up just anything for the sake of earnings.
When I do start discussions I truly have no expectations that I will get tons of responses but rather grateful if even one. I am fortunate to get loads of quality responses, perhaps because I generally put forth an aware and or help type of discussion.
I am also very attentive to my discussions which means that when I do start one I know I will allow plenty of time to correspond quickly, as this my friend will get the members to come and ask more and or comment further. Which really is all a discussion should be about is furthering it not not just a response.

Hi there SHAMRACK!!!
I also do posts topics that are not really interesting for others sometimes.I am doing this to also earn some advice from other mylotters.Sometimes I just want to share an idea to all members here in mylot that is why even if I know that a certain topic will not earn many response I am still posting it.
It is a very nice feeling to have a way to share your views like posting here in mylot.Posting here in mylot also help me to share what I am feeling sometimes.

I post a discussion because I want to know what my friends think about something.
If they don't think anything about it, my answer is 'nothing.'

I put up discussions if I want to know about something. I really do not care if I get a lot of responses, just two will do, because then it is really a discussion. It is important to want to visit about things in a discussion.

I write what's on my mind, and if I get lots of responses, great. If I don't, oh well.

I for sure do, anyway. I've started a lot of "very specific" discussions that still haven't merited me any responses, but that's OK. There's no harm in trying. And it doesn't mean your discussion is a total failure just because no one responds.. LOL. I find myself trying to think of these very specific topics, so as to not be redundant with discussions that other people have started in the past, and then I find myself with these super-unique discussions (sometimes) that no one wants to respond to. . I guess it's about finding a balance, huh?

I am interested in socialising at mylot. That means that I prefer few good answers than a lot of one liners which doesn´t mean anything to me. Fortunatly I usually get enough good answers to have fun and learn at the same time. My friend´s answers make me want to learn more about their country or their costums. I think this is all about mylot.

I don't start all that many discussions, but when I do start one, I do hope to get responses to it, but there is no way of knowing how many, whether a few or a lot. I am glad I do get any at all, as I do have a hard time coming up with a good topic, and that is the biggest reason I don't start all that many discussions. I find it easier just to respond to other discussions. To answer your question, I will start some discussions now and then, and hope for the best. Good luck to you and happy mylotting.

Yes, why not??
I am more concerned about quality of discussion rather than quantity.
Just making up numbers is not good.
Quality discussion is what matters.

I am in line with you entirely. I do sometimes post which I know will not attract responses. I have for example posted about football or other sports than cricket concerning India in particular several times many of which have gone unresponded. Our cricket crazy Indians does not want to see or talk about beyond cricket. Of course I am equally cricket crazy but I love other sports also. India were playing AFC 2011 football cup after 24 years and it was a unique event and honor for India and I could not resist reporting about it. Similarly India doing very well in C.W.G. meet or Asiad how can sports loving person miss it?

Hi SHAMRAK,
Yes, in the past I posted some discussions with the idea in mind that the discussion would not generate much response. And I proved correct too. The maximum I got on such discussion is 8 or 10.
Actually people do not like to put their pressure up reading serious post and think serious answer as well.

There's no harm in trying. I would also be taking risk no what the result maybe. We just don't know a lot of mylotters may be interested in that particular discussion but we are feeling the other way around. So why not try anyway, we won't be losing money if we try.

I always prefer to start a topic which has its own relevance. Some times people may not respond to it because they feel someone has already provided the solution for it and the duplication would be boring. Initially 2-3 comments get resolve the problem, then there is no meaning in taking part on the same issue. But if we got a different opinion or some shared knowledge has contradiction, we can rectify or notify the same. Also, regardless of all, we can put our comments to any of the discussion topics.
But come with an inappropriate topic has not meaning and sure that such topics will remain as 'on response' topics only.
Thank-s

Well, the point of myLot is to discuss, so the more responses, the better the chances are for a good discussion. So I must admit, to some extent, I do try to get responses out of people and make them want to come to my discussion. That is the point, is it not?

Well i guess i would do that. 0 discussions maybe not but even if it were for one or two i wouldn't mind at all. I don't think anyone can really say as to how many discussions can be given to a post or how many people would really like that topic and post on it or something. I am thinking that whatever topic i feel free to post on i would do that!
Cheers!

Hello Shamrack!
Generally before posting a topic,,I guess everyone feels their topic is a good one. Its only when we get very less response we start wondering if our topic was actually that bad?? :D
But the truth is no topic is stupid or irrelavent. Its just the difference of public opinions to like the topic or not.
imagine 223468 members here posting say 3 topics each will have 670404 topics to discuss in just a day. so people have to choose only the interesting topics.
So an atrractive topic also favours better response. like this topic u have thought.
