Why are some people so dirty?

Well, I am not saying everyone is the cleanest person in the world but I just don't understand how some people are so dirty. I work in an office and we only have one bathroom so both the men and women use it. And it drives me crazy how some people are so dirty. For one the workplace is not your home so everything doesn't apply. Everyone knows women gets the period once a month but the women leave the wrappers all out in the open. Every time a man leaves the bathroom they leave piss on the toilet but I am almost certain that people don't do this at home so why do it in other places?

This is a question that can hardly be explained. And do you travel with public transport?I have that honor and each time I see my bus is comming I feel as if I am about to burst into tears as I know what is waiting me there. Most of the people do not wash their clothes, don't take showers, and even don't wash their teeth. So you should know it is not only at the place you work.I don't really find a reason how to explain it but the more modernized the word becomes the more primitive the people seem to be.

being clean is our foremost duty but some times some persons due to laziness they throw things here and there and they dont bother about the consequences and sometimes they may be clean in their houses but since others are public property they dont care what happens to it,..

Poor toilet habits drive me crazy! I hate it when people leave a mess after they use the loo. They seem to think that just because there are maintenance personnel in the building, they don't need to clean up after themselves. Because of this, a lot of quite funny toilet sighns have appeared everywhere, like "If you sprinkle while you tinkle, please be neat and wipe the seat." In my office the sign says "Do no squat, there will be an inevitable fizzle. Sit down properly like a lady."

Ahhh! I totally feel you! In our office, the comfort rooms are separate, but some women really just don't know how to clean up after themselves. They leave used tissues, napkins in the floor, opened in the trashcan for everyone to see. Uck. And sometimes when they use the toilet they don't flush, or even leave piss in the seat.

greetings! it could be a certain lack of sense of responsibility? people assume that other people would clean up after them so they don't bother cleaning it up themselves.

Some people just have other thing's on their mind i reckon. I agree with You though, especially if you have ever sat on a Bus with someone who has Bad hygeine. We cannot Blame people for this, as some people are Not well and probably don't think the way other's do. I mean i get Depressed sometimes and usually i don't shave if i'm like that, so maybe i'm un-clean at times as well. The toilet aspect, alot of guys do that, thats why carpets aren't so good in the Bathroom. Other people just don't have same Respect for other places as they do in their own Homes, although i've missed the pan a few times in my Day, especially if i've been out Drinking. So many other people Pride themselves in being Clean and tidy, their prob more Postive about life.

Because cleaning up the mess is someone else's job.

At my 2nd job, it's the same way. I think the reason people justify this kind of stuff at work is because they AREN'T at home, meaning that THEY nor their family/roommates will have to worry about cleaning it up. It's kind of sad.

This is one of the reasons why I try hard to do my 'business' at home. I also work in an office setting, and I can see the same things at work. Our men and women's washrooms are separate, but I don't see why some of the office people here think our washroom is an extension of their homes. There's one guy here that the first thing he does when he gets to the office is to sit on the throne and do his 'business'. Why can't he do that at home!? Anyway, I think some people do disgusting things when there is nobody watching.

I think the best solution to this problem will be to have 2 bathrooms one for women the other for men.In that way you can distinguish which of the 2 genders have dirty habits.I know almost all offices provides 2 bathrooms, men separated from women but if this is not possible like in your office, discipline must be enforce by the management. thanks...

Yeah i also see some people who leaves their panty liners on the comfort room. I feel so pissed off because of that. I myself will not do that if I'm a girl(im a boy).

In psychology, it is said that someone's cleanliness depends on their potty habits at their younger years. If the toddler always "let go" at will, they will grow up a dirty person. But if the toddler holds it until they reach the potty, they they will grow up a cleanliness obsessive person.

Good hygiene is an habit that people can cultivate effectively if they are well-trained by their parents as at childhood. But when this training is lacking, children grow up to adult and still remain dirty in all their habits. For example, it is good for parents to train a child on the needs to have a hair cut, get his nails trimmed, get his mouth brushed, etc But when this is culture is lacking in parent the child grow to become dirty adult. I think it is parents who are neat and who is cultivating cleanliness that can instil this habits in their children. A second factor, is the role of the school. school should try to train a child in hygiene matters. In Nigeria, where I live, most school sent pupils who look dirty back home to meet their parents. The school check for grown nails, unbrushed mouth, rough hair, dirty school uniform. I think with education, most dirty adult and children will change from their habits. So education is the key to change

When I was working in a corporate setting, this used to drive me nuts! It's not only the bathrooms either... office kitchens are disgusting. I got so sick of wanting to heat up my lunch and the microwave was caked with dried up food and spills or having to look at a sink full of stained and almost moldy coffee cups because people can't be bothered to actually WASH their cup at the end of the day. I know one guy used to take his cup and drop it in the sink on his way out at night and, when he came back in the morning, he would swirl some water around in it and then just refill it and drink out of it all day again. Others would toss dirty lunch dishes into the sink rather than taking them home. Do they think the cleaning crew is charged with dishwashing? They aren't. An office is not a hotel with individual housekeeping. People need to learn to be more respectful of others and clean up after themselves. They do things that you KNOW they would never do in their own homes.

Some people are dirty as they have not cultivated the habit of cleanliness in the childhood and I think their parents failed to teach them the importance of cleanliness in life. So their parents should be blamed first.

I have often wondered this same thing myself. I try not to use public restrooms because people really are nasty. They don't flush the toilets or they leave tissue all over the place. I know the staff is supposed to come in and clean the restrooms and everything, but come on. These same people would pitch a fit if someone in their homes did what they do in public restrooms. The worst are gas stations, they seem to always smell like someone just peed on the floor. Some things are just common sense and basic manners. Think of what these people are teaching their kids...

Oh my this topic has made feel a bit sick! I can't believe how dirty people can be. I am not obsessive about cleaning but basic hygiene should apply to all. This was a nightmare for me when I was pregnant as I had to go to public toilets all the time. I always bring a hand wash with me and toilet paper now! Also when I was pregnant smells made me feel sick and thee were so many people who did brush their teeth in the morning and I work in a call center, I would feel so sick smeeling their breath in the mornings, yuck!!
