Hello Newcomers, welcome to myLot. I know you all got answers of some questions in MyLot you wanted which are sometimes not even available anywhere on google. So you decided to join Mylot. You all would be excited to give your suggestions on discussions being made here plus you too would like to start a new discussion. But before doing so please check Faqs once. Here's the link.
http://www.mylot.com/o/faq.aspx
I know i'm too a newbie, but im posting this matter since i too made few mistakes which i dont want you all to make. Few things you should keep in mind are which may not be mentioned in faqs:
1. Believe in quality, not quantity. Mylot pays for quality stuffs you post and not how many posts you make.
2. Please post relevant stuffs to the discussions being made, do not divert from the topic
3. An Imp point to be made here is, please wait for a week atleast before selecting the best answer for your post.
4. Do not address any user with words like buddy, dude or anything else on Mylot. They may feel offended.
5. Be polite with everyone, as every user on the mylot has the access to abuse button to remove your discussion or comment.
Existing myLot users, please share your valuable exprience that you have gained with new users like us. Thank you.
Happy Mylotting!

I am certain that we met before and that I welcomed you but I can't find that post now so...welcome to myLot!
It is not easy being a new user on any site. Here on myLot it might seem the same because it might seem extremeoy compliucated to get the hang of things but there are many Lotters who will advise and help. If you are willing to take the advice given then your time here will be well spent.
You say: "every user on the myLot has the access to abuse button to remove your discussion or comment"
That is not quite true. We all, including you, have acces to the (!) abuse button BUT only admin can remove our posts. Users can report but they cannot delete and not all reported posts are removed.
May I suggest that new users, rather than immediately starting new topics (which do not become a discussion unless they participate in them and further the topic) spend their time responding on discussions started by others? This way they will get a better idea of how to do things and will meet more Lotters.
That link to the FAQs is not just for new users. We all have it for reference as it is the only information that is provided by myLot themselves and it is the only place where we can get the correct answers to our queries. We should all refer to it regularly to be sure that we get the correct information and don't fall into the traps that some of the myths spread by other Lotters lead us to.
There is one important thing that you have forgotten to mention - FUN! That is what makes myLot tick. If your time here is spent having fun then you will get the best results

It was in a duplicated discussion deleted this night. Hatley was the valiant knight who defended the "buddy", don't you remember ?
You already explain him that you desire here 2) that members can't be able to post before 100 (not your words but the idea).

Sure, you are a lady .
I received a notification at 20:26 (GMT+2: same in your country) "Original Question Title: What features do you want myLot to add?". This discussion was removed at high speed ! He had not the time to give a response to everybody.
And to extend this discussion, here is a new GAA response for your casebook -- I gave a response two minutes before --: http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/2476853.aspx
It is different of what we are explaining everyday and that the lamb posted here : http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/2436933.aspx

Quite a good post! Especially because you know so much so early, while there are older ones who falter just everywhere...
I hope you'll go to heights with all these suggestions put to action. Me, I don't follow any fixed path and just try to be a member here, answering and commenting, appearing and disappearing, and being of as much help as I can. Fun is indeed something core to this site. And that brings me to another point:
Will somebody share their thoughts on diverting from topic vs barging in?
It's not a deviation, we need further explanation on some points suggested in Original Post.

Hi...I am still a 'newbie' myself. I have found that the best way to learn the ropes and not run afoul of the guidelines is to read and post to discussions and be very slow to start discussions. I've tried to request for friends those members who have been here a long time and who post well thought out responses to discussions. In reading their responses I have learned things that may have been vague in the FAQs and guidelines. I also still refer back to those FAQs and guidelines frequently so that I don't have to be asking 'how-to' questions too often.

1. Sustain a genuine interest. Don't just post for the sake of posting many replies. If you're not passionate about a certain topic, then you might be making posts which are not helpful or interesting. Stick to the ones which you have a certain passion for.
2. Be talkative. Explore, interact, and if you have the time, reply as often as possible. Not only will you trigger a healthy and lively discussion, you also gain friends as you go on and gain more money too (I like the gaining friends more because I'm not in this for the money anyway, I earn more in other sites).
3. Be respectful and civil. Be wary of the mantra: Garbage in, garbage out. 'nuff said.

You're a newbie too right?
What I usually do here is whenever I log-in, I go to FAQS page to learn more of the guidelines. That way, I minimize the deletion of my responses which in turn won't cause me any decrease in my earnings.
