Me and my family watched cinema yesterday in SM Southmall, The Green Hornet. Someone here in mylot a friend of my told me that SM is not accepting SM Advantage Card to credit for points/rewards. But they do.. I was able to credit some points in availing the tickets. But here's the climax of the story before I get credited. I have to file a complain from the Supervisor. The cashier said to me that they Card Machine is offline. So I asked why you didn't complaint. She said we already did but no one attend. So I make my move and file a complaint. Guess what! It only took less 30 minutes and the Card machine was repaired. And I got my credit. Complain if you have the right/privilege. Lame reason is not valid in this kind of scenario.

I am what in my family they call the queen of complain. Whenever I think I was being treated unfair I'll go for it, even when it seems that the person/institution won't be responding my complains. For me it's better to complain than get mad or rant about it in the back.

I only complain if I am treated unfairly and I was stepped down on my own rights and benefits.

Wow that was a really good move. Not only did you got your credit for doing that but may others will be inspired by what you did. Inspired to really complain and stand for their rights. I don't usually do this since i only wait for what the employees promised, but i guess it's about time to make a move so everybody can get the benefits they are opt to receive.

I never got the chance to use my SM advantage card on Cinemas since the cashiers on the moviehouse make it to a point that they don't give credits when it comes to watching movies. I'm gonna try that sometime next week. Thanks for the tip, Syoti.

I have a SM Advantage card too and I was also using it everytime I purchased movie tickets because there was a discount of P5 (or P10). I don't remember it anymore because that was on 2009 and early 2010. Then after a few months, they are not accepting SM Advantage card anymore for the discounts. Since you have mentioned that they are accepting the card again, then next time I would be able to use the benefits of it.

Hi syoti: I nagree with you and I think it's a good advice. Sometimes we don't do this because we might think that we will probably waste our time and noone will take into account our complaints and that's not always truth. I think that if more people follow your advice things would be better. ALVARO

I love what you did!:D Some staff are just making excuses to avoid additional tasks. If I know I have the right, I file the complaint. Sometimes this is needed for a quick response from the management. I have this experience from my previous employer. We were given a blazer, according to our HR it was a "gift" from the management for the anniversary. When my colleague resigend, she was charged for the blazer, deducted from her last pay. When I resigned, I expected they will do the same thing to me. What I did, I emailed the HR head telling her that I did not ask for it, they gave it to us, so why charge me for that? In the end, they requested me to just return the blazer, winner! :D

That's correct. If they mean gift it only means until the end. What you did is right.

That sounds like the water dispenser in my community. There are 3 places to get good quality filtered water but the closest and cheapest has malfunctions a lot where they take the money and don't spit out the water which costs $1 USD for 5 gallons. So as there is no attendant, we have to write a letter asking for our quarters back when it eats the money. The second closest never malfunctions, but they charge $1 for 4 gallons. The 3rd place gives 5 gallons, but the gas to drive there eats up the difference. So I go to place number 2.

haha =D Some things are like that. If ever u are in the service sector, only then u will realise the pain and difficulty of it.. lol =D Most of the time, when things are down or spoiled, complaints or reports by staffs to higher management are often overlooked. But once complaints comes in from customers, that will be their priority.. lol =D It's the same everywhere.. lol =D

I guess if you have to complain then you should do it. I think a lot of people don't want to complain because they see it as a confrontation with other people, they would rather just sit back and take bad service or be the 1% that don't help a company expand to its full potential. I complain all the time, how else would a business know if they weren't satisfying their customer or clients needs?

You have a valid point, if we don't complaint or confront the situation how do we expect to get results or get our concerns or issues resolved. I am one of those that tend to complaint if it's for my benefit. If you feel that you are not getting what is to be expected, then complaint, what's the worst that can happen you don't get results or they tell you they can't help you. But atleast you know you tried and anyways normally when you complaint companies try to atleast negotiate something, since they don't want to have a bad reputation. You have nothing to loose...

Wow that's good. I haven't tried using my advantage card when purchasing tickets in SM Cinemas. Although I saw it as one of the establishments where you can have credits. Well this is an eye opener and a go signal for me. Thank you so much. And if the cashier tries to reason out with me, all hell will break loose. I will call the manager too. We are paying customers. And we deserve everything that's been promised to us. Thanks so much again.
