My honey is an all around good guy, he is always happy go lucky and in a good mood. When it comes to money he really doesn't care what I do with it as long as I'm happy doing it. He never cares what I buy or where I bought it, how much I spend or if it was a good deal.. I always come home and tell him ...."Look what I got" and he says "That's nice", never even asking how much or anything. Sometimes that can be bad cause he doesn't even worry about bills or anything cause he knows I take care of them. . Does your spouse give you hell about spending money?[

hi, i dont have yet spouse, but as a spouse and partner to your life, you should spend money for goods and relevant things and reasons, you have to spend the money of your spouse significantly.

I usually spend money only on the things we really need, we don't have a lot of extra money .

Hi Missybear, That's sweet that he doesn't care how you spend the money but I suspect that it is because you take care to make sure all the bills are paid and you both have what you need. It sounds to me that you are spending it wisely and budgeting and he trusts you 100%. You are taking a huge burden off from his shoulders, I'm sure. Some people are just terrible with money and keeping track of the bills. It's clear that you are just good at it. When I was married, my husband had a good chunk of his check spent long before he got home on payday...feeding his head and killing his thirst. I was good with the budgeting but there wasn't enough to really do much in the way of shopping sprees so he really had no reason to yell at me for that. Now I'm single and I just do my best with what I earn and don't have anyone to answer to.

Sometimes that's a good thing {being single}. If he was handling the money we be broke all the time I'm sure and he knows it too.

I guess your man feels safe knowing that you'll keep you both in the black money wise. So what's the problem? So long as he isn't spending loads of money himself and putting the two of you at risk of debt then I think you're very lucky! Congratulations on finding yourself such a great guy :-)

No..he knows it wouldn't do any good if he did..lol. I don't buy a lot of extras anyway. I usually just stick with what we need unless it's the girls...I do spend some extra on them.

Well my husband doesn't give me hell but he sure does not approve of my money spending. Yesterday for example the girls in our family got together for a shopping trip and I withdrew some money from my own bank account to spend. When I got home he had been looking at our bank accounts online and knew exactly how much i had taken out of the bank!!!

Your spouse probably believes that if you do the bills and accounting then you can afford to buy all the stuff you buy. Some people can be easygoing and not let a material thing like money worry them.

I sometimes have to make him go just so he can get something new for himself. he's just not a big shopper.

So long as the bills are taking care of I wouldn't mind. Of course if they aren't then it's a problem...

well, some guys are not good in accounting expenses. they know how to earn, but spending is not their thing. your guy seems to a normal guy about being disinterested in the expenditures and happy go lucky on life. however, i am not sure if i got you right, but your guy is not helping you with the bills. this surprises me, because it is a blow to a guy not to be able to help in the household.
