Brrr! It's quite cold over here and not going warm up anytime soon. When it gets this cold, I like to warm up with hearty soups and chilis. A good bowl of stew will keep you warm for hours! Tonight I'll be serving my family white chili (recipe here: http://www.beansbeansbeans.com/white-chili-recipe). What are your favorite chili, soup, and general cold weather recipes?

Hey there. Welcome to mylot! This is making me very hungry. Winter is when some of my favorite foods are prevalent. I enjoy chilli, red beans and rice, and stew more than soups. This recipe you shared looks very good. Thanks for posting it.

I am a big fan of soups in winter time. Most of the people in my country loves to have love ginger tea in winters, its good for health and immunity. As we already know that tea has anti-oxidants and ginger helps in immunity and cold.

Hi, Giant_, I made white chili earlier this week. Used ground turkey and three different kinds of white beans. Right now I'm heating up leftovers for my meal tonight. I just sauteed some mushrooms to add in. I've made up my own recipe as the ones that I found didn't have enough body to suit me. In cold weather I love to make soups and other 'comfort foods'. I've made vegetable beef soup this month and chicken noodle soup. I also make a good chicken pot pie and chicken 'n dumplings. I think I've made all of those this past month. I share with my neighbor and then freeze leftovers for later. Somehow I can't seem to make a small batch. There's usually enough to feed a small army.
