I feel the same and as you said I do have many from my native language to foreign and dictionary of a particular subject...dictionary was always and still is a good teacher for me..I do remember when I was a kid my mom always assigned me 10 words from dictionary everyday.to memorize. She also took exam the very next day and comprehensively at the end of the week..We also had a language class at school where we were required to buy a dictionary kid version and teacher tought us different word either by showing pictures or model of that thing and told how to use it and where..we also had a story teller book....full of stories and tells...that was my favorite one....we loved that session because those stories were too good and interesting...we didn't even realized when we were learnt a new word...that was really fun..
I also had science, physics and chemistry dictionary in high school when I was science background...now I have economic dictionary as I'm studying business and economics...they are really really helpful for instant access....

Yes i do have dictionary always besides me. I use it for blogging and for my online review. Everytime i open a PC it is instant that i will research an Online Thesaurus rather than opening You Tube. I have saved so many free ebooks and everytime there are new words popping up, i used this online Thesaurus and dictionary books besides me. For me it is a must so that we can learn new words everyday with the proper meaning attach to it. And those words are what i used when i am writing my online review and blogs.

Long back, when I did not have a large vocabulary, I used to use dictionary a lot. Every time I came across a new word, I checked it up in the dictionary. This way, I have collected a lot English words and now I don't need dictionary any more.

Congrats mate!..great news..happy to know that...I wish someday I would be so confident and find it easy to get the meaning of every word..
I'm pretty comfortable with everyday usable words, communicative English, greetings ...to keep the flow of a conversation or discussion but when it is a literature, it just hits me...I feel doh...

I usually don't use the dictionary anymore...not when I have the laptop sitting right in front of me if I ever wonder about a word. Yeah, I could go....look it up...but a wiser voice says...just look it up online! lol..

clever buggles...
It also whispers in my ear....
You know..you people have confidence on what you know and learnt from your culture and gens...you are extremely knowledge..but people like us we adapt this laguage as our second, try to get used to it but there is always a limitation between natural and learnt behavior..
I'm Bengali...I never use any Bangle dictionary neither physical nor online..because I have taught it from childhood, from my gens, from my family...so I am confident and I have good command over this language..
but when it is English I sometimes have to relay on dictionaries for vocabulary, synonyms, antonyms..and theres also far difference between bookish English and communicative ...and all together they are complex..

I don't usually I'm lazy and avoid finding out certain words, I really shouldn't though seeing as I want to work in writing field. Any time I do in fact look words up it's usually on the internet as well I haven't used a physical dictionary in years.
