best responses

I think the new users don't know about this, it took me about three days to realize this "best respond thing" :Þ So maybe mylot should send something to the new users and tell them about this...

my responses have never been rated as best !!!

I will not selected best response if i not get the answer from that response. :)

I don't understand the best responses as I watched when I gave the best responses it didn't seem to make any different to the total of the ones I gave it to....

well, i will always try to choose the best response, unless i felt that there's no good response at all. For some discussions that i've chose the best response, i will give a + for some others that are good too!

Yes, I hv also noticed this. But as for as the abuse part u r discussing. I hv not noticed that yet. There might be many reasons for not selecting best response. that. 1. There might be lack of availability of time with them. 2. This may be due to their careless nature. 3. They might be coming here to get their problems solved only. 4. They might not be willing to help others. 5. Sometimes, they might not be getting best answer in reality. 6. Some persons come here just for fun and they really don’t bother to choose the best response. I hope it satisfies u.

I've seen that as well and it's really irritating. I think there are some that just give it to the first person that responds and that's wrong. I have been guilty a few times of awarding it thinking I would get no more responses and then a few days later someone resonds with an even better response, but it's too late to give it to them, as I've already selected it.

I agree with you, but does it really matter. I enjoy taking part in reasoned discussions, but if people don't want to rate my response, so be it. There are quite a few parts of Mylot which people exploit, and Mylot does not seems to bother, so perhaps the problem is more with them for allowing this to take place, and maybe a good reason for having moderators.

What happens is that at times we judge the discussion when responses are few, better response comes at a later stage and we have already marked the best response. so now in my discussions I judge only after I have got 20 responses.

Well isnt it all subjective...a best response to you may not be the same to someone else...and afterall its their wish...we'll ahve to tolerate.....

best response means the best i think. it depends on mentality of mylot user . the response i think best may not be the best in your openion.but i think it is best to me .

Some questions have no best answer, like asking what is your favorite color, etc. Other times it seems people are busy trying to ask and reply to as many topics as they can, they don't take the time to rate the best reply. I've only posted a few questions so far, but I've given a best response for each one... I think.

Ah.... Some times there is more than 1 answer is great. So my sister don;t pick the best response. She only ask me to rate + to all ppl who post great answer in her topic (I almost nevr made my own topic) She choose not base on it is her friends or not. because she don;t remember her friends name except few ppl.^^

I think Im guilty of not selecting a best response. I just forget to do it alot. Some times I do go back through my discussions and select one later. I've only got selected 1 time. If I think about it I try to select one and be fair about it.
