Weird winter weather

OK, we are having the weirdest winter storm I have ever seen--lots of snow, then rain, then sleet, then THUNDER and LIGHTNING, then 40+ mile an hour wind, then big hail stones, then more snow, now more thunder and lightning--and, according to the weather report, the "severe" weather is still to come! I have never seen anything like this in NJ. (And, believe it or not, my kids had school today). Is anyone else experiencing unusual weather?

I know how you feel. I'm in PA and we got about 16 inches of snow last night. We also had the thunder and lightning which was weird. I'm really tired of all the snow we've been getting. Now I hear we might get another big storm next week.

We got another 2 inches or so last night--ice and snow mixed, which is always the BEST kind of precipitation. I hear next week may be another foot or more!

No need for confusion. Everything you described is caused by global warming. See, man-made CO2 emissions have created an abundance of greenhouse gases, which trap more of the suns heat close to earth. This causes the temperature on earth to be steadily rising. Does that explain it good enough for you? Ok, then you can send your carbon footprint reduction fee of $55 to me. By the way, that is an annual fee.

No, I think there is a different reason--our town is home to the famous Martian landing in Orson Wells' radio broadcast War of the Worlds. I think they have come back. And I can't afford your fee; I need to buy a new snowblower--we just got another 18 inches of snow. Seriously, I am sure it is attributable in large part to global warming, but, even so, that still doesn't explain the rapid changes in temperature during one storm over the course of just a couple of hours. It must have been a very unusual weather phenomenon.

It's been unusually warm here! It makes me nervous... if it's this warm in January, what's it going to be like in July???

That can be a problem, too--especially because, with no season of "colder" weather, germs and germ-carrying bugs flourish. On the other hand, I could use a little extra warmth right about now! Wanna trade?
