I love reading and I don't know what made me hooked on reading Manga at all. I mean I can watch the anime episodes but there is something special on reading Manga and reading it from right to left instead of the normal way on reading it. I don't know why I was hooked on reading High school of the Dead manga though they have released the anime version of it. Any manga lovers in Mylot? And what manga have you already read lately?

Reading manga is an addition. Its different then watching an anime. I like reading manga because I get to have a better time looking at the details in the drawings and how much work and effort they were put into each stroke. I am also not the one really for color because it hurts my eyes so having them be in black and white or lightly colored, it is much easier for my eyes to handle. One manga I have been reading is "Dr. Slump" by Akira Toriyama. It's just because I love vintage and old school manga and anime!

I got hooked on reading manga just recently and for me, it's a bit better than watching anime. You know, a lot of famous anime are not yet finished so I prefer reading the manga. And anime are just adaptations of the manga with a lot of fillers so I stick with the original storyline in the manga version. I've already read a few and Hatori Bisco, Kentaro Miura, Yoshihiro Togashi are my favorite manga writers. You should try Berserk, it's the best manga out there, even better than Naruto. LOL.

I adore reading manga and watching anime. Manga is a more favorite cause it is less time consuming. And the manga is the original of any anime therefore my favorite.

I know what you mean. Sometimes I get so hooked onto a series that I don't want to stop. I've even gone back to reread the whole thing again right after finishing it. Besides reading them I also love collecting them. So far I own over 500 volumes of manga from various series. There's just something special about actually owning them instead of reading them online. Lately I've been going through and reading some of the older titles. I was reading Cardcaptor Sakura and Basara for the fourth or fifth time. I can't get enough of some of these stories. I'm also really into Ghost Hunt at the moment and the anticipation for the next volume is killing me.

*raises his hand* I can't really say that I'm a heavy manga reader but I have a few favorites that I keep tabs on: Fairy Tail, Naruto, Bleach, One Piece. (Shounen is just right for me.)

I'm not a fan of reading manga because i hate to wait. I rather buy manga videos, finish it all at one go. I have friends whom have both manga books as well as videos, for keepsake, as well as re-watching the their favourite episodes. Manga books are really well taken care of, and if any of us wants to borrow, he will be sure to lend us the video instead.

I also love reading manga, but in my case I only read mangas after I watch the anime version of a particular manga. This is due to the fact that sometimes the anime tends to sway from the original storyline of the manga, especially if the anime is done while the manga is still on-going. I've seen countless anime whose story became different, if not, shortened, from the story of the manga. Sometimes not only is the story different but there are also discrepancy with the personalities of the characters. The same can be said with famous novels and books that have movie adaptations. So I guess the reason why most people enjoy reading manga rather than watching anime is because of the originality of the story. After all, it is the manga that is usually made first before the anime. (.
