Hello fellow mylotters. I wonder how many of you have any good ideas for natural, everyday ailments. I have a few. For GERD, heartburn and those related things, sauerkraut is great. Just a few tablespoons will have you feeling better within minutes. Much better than taking prescription or even over the counter meds, and it is better for you. I have found Activia products work well for this too. Ginger also works wonders. I often sip a ginger and lemon tea to help the digestive tract behave itself. For stiff muscles, a stressed out body and sleeping aid, nothing beats Calcium, Magnesium and Zinc. The Magnesium and Zinc help the calcium get through your body, they act as a vehicle to carry it through. Calcium is wonderful for all these ailments. Even if I have too much caffeine and have a hard time getting to sleep, the Calcium supplement helps knock me out for 7 1/2 to 8 full hours, and in the morning I feel great! The only drawback is, unless you want to sleep it is good to take only at night about a half hour before bed. It will make you drowsy if taken during the day. What are your favorite natural products for ailments?

I forgot all about melatonin being a sleep aid. It is good it helps you. I tried it before and it did not do much for me, but it does help sooo many people. I never heard of capsaicin before now. It is a derivative of the hot pepper family. Webmd has information on it: http://www.webmd.com/pain-management/tc/capsaicin-topic-overview cher, maybe you can get some hot pepper seeds, crush them and put in some olive oil to make your own ointment. Olive oil is great for the skin, though it kind of stinks. lol. During the Roman period, olive oil was used as a type of antiseptic on cuts. I much prefer our modern medicine for that. I would not pour oil on a cut or something! I guess you can substitute any type of lotion for the olive oil and put the crushed peppers in it, if you didn't want to use the olive oil.

There are a lot of them online. I just did a search using mylot search and found over 17,000 listed.

There are a ton online. Many can be kind of hokey though. I'm looking for available items in our household or grocers that help ailments that have been tried by real people.

That is excellent information you have presented. Very useful and helpful for all myLotters. One of my favorite natural products, which I take every day too, is green tea. I believe in the herbal value of green tea. I take cups of green tea throughout the day, makes me feel refreshed and relaxed.

There are a lot of different home remedies on the internet. The problem is you have to test them out and see what works for you. One of my favorites is for pimples. Put a little bit of toothpaste (not gel) on your pimple before you go to bed. The next morning it will be pretty much dried up.

For many people, a simple glass of water or two can do wonders! That is a great suggestion.
