The roomie and I go to the library sometimes and check out audio books.
Now, because we don't get out to the library frequently, the roomie burns copies, generally MP3 copies, for us to listen to at our leisure. Or in the car in my case.
So, tonight she was trying to make a copy and her computer was showing the disc as "blank". We popped it into my drive and it worked, but she wasn't sure how to get it to work on hers.
She said something about putting it in the work computer and sending it to herself.
I asked if she couldn't put it on a thumb drive.
"YES!" she said. "You are Brilliant!"
And off she went to get her thumb drive and do it.
Wow, for the one who is always having to ask her opinion of something computer-ish, I got called brilliant!
gee, makes me feel good...
"Thinking outside the box" she called it.
I think it was the little bottle of wine and all those meds I'm taking because I caught Maggiepie's cold...
When's the last time someone called you a good thing?

I get called a lot of things, good & bad...but I don't pay much attention. So long as they call me for dinner, I'm good!

Not true. I know I have a real talent for writing, & to some extent, for art. But I also know two things: One, the competition for the kind of art I do is much better, & two, I lack the ability to sustain a great story for most things I begin, plus I really need to know more about getting published with short stories. But you of all people should know how I get snaggled up when I'm writing, & see that it's probably publishable...suddenly my mind seizes up!
Maybe I really just need counseling to get me over that psychological wall. Like Medicare pays for that! (And no, I don't want them to do that! What a tax pit that'd be! )

P.S. Father A. just told me on the phone tonight that I have an "excellent mind."
By the 'bye, he's coming to bless the apartment either tomorrow or Tuesday (late afternoon, I mean.)...just so you know.

Lucky you! It's always nice to get a compliment. I can't remember when the last time someone did that for me.

A friend recently called me a good writer with a way with words. I had let her read what I've written so far about my mother and her family. She said she really got caught up in the story.

I have one friend that says I know a lot about computers, but not brilliant. I don't know a lot but, I know more than her. I usually ask other friends how to do certain things. A lot of things I have learned by trial and error. I guess the only nice thing someone has said is that I don't have a mean thing to say about anyone. I guess that is nice. I have been called smart, but again that is relative. My sister-in-law said I was very funny, and that made me feel good.

I don't think i have ever been called brillant, lol especially when it comes to computers. I don't remember the last time anyone called me a good thing unless it was my grandson when he told me i was his favorite bobo. Have a good weekend.

thats so cool friend. it really makes you feel good when you have someone actually spontaneously tell you a truth like that. to many people just dont tell you what they appreciate about you. and its priceless when they do. i think the last time was when my late hubby used to tell me things like that all the time. it gave me such confidence, i never had before him.
