If you get one of those pedometers you can work out exactly how many steps or miles you have waled. They say we need to walk 10,000 steps a day to stay healthy, I range between 6000 and 20,000 depending on how busy my day is normally.

I always avoid going in a vehicle whenever possible and walk the distances myself. This way I am able to cover at least 10 kilo meters per day. I am very keen on doing this as I want to get rid of my pot belly.
But did you hear the case where a doctor told a patient to run 10 miles a day for 30 days and to report to him. After 30 days the man phones and tells the doctor,"Doctor, I followed your advice and ran 10 miles per day". Then the doctor says, "OK, now that you have done it for 30 days come back for a check up". Then the man says, "But doctor I am 300 miles away from home".

I usually walk about 2 miles on my treadmill every day, I am a programmer and I feel I need it. I think 2 miles are about 3000 steps.
