I just made some homemade chicken noodle soup with some egg dumplings..yummy! It's been snowing here all day and is supposed to keep up until late tomorrow...so having soup was not only warming to my body but my soul! LOL...so when it's snowy or rainy what do you like to make?

I like to make home-made vegetable soup, but I also like to cook chili now and then. Black-eyed peas or lima beans are also good.

Hi, jillhill....My favorite comfort food in cold weather is chicken 'n dumplings. I don't make those big fluffy dumplings but like to make the flat chewy ones. I also like homemade vegetable soup, spaghetti and meat sauce and any kind of pasta dish. I make everything from scratch and it tastes so much better than boxed mixes, etc.

Anything HOT. Soup, tea (OK that's a drink), chili, anything that comes out of the oven....

My family has eaten beans in the winters for years. Kidney or pinto beans cooked until tender with seasonings that make them so tasty. Adding a ham hawk to it makes it even more tasty. Then add some well buttered corn bread piping hot and you have a very delicious and nutritios meal to come in out of the cold to enjoy.

Soup! I used to have a selection of soups on cold, snowy days. Now, with the boys gone I don't. I baked cookies. I found a mountainous region of quick oatmeal I didn't clean out yet since the boys left. We've been eating oatmeal every morning for a week.

We have two favorites and that is chili and vegetable beef soup. Yummy! We also like chicken and dumplins' too. We make our dumplins' from Jiffy mix. It's really good! I always have to make a little extra dumplins' because they're so tasty. I usually invite my parents down when we make a big dish such as that and then we have them take it home so they'll have that to eat for the next few days to help them out.

I think our favorite cold weather food is chilli. It is just something that seems 'right' for a cold, snowy day or a big winter gathering.

For me, my favorite cold weather food is champorado. We call it that here but you can call it a chocolate rice porridge. It is so simple to make. You just boil some sticky rice and put cocoa in it. When serving it, you usually add sugar and evaporated milk to sweeten it and to loosen the thick broth. Then finally, you serve it with a salty dried fish on the side. PERFECT!!!

My favorite cold weather food is homemade chili. It is snowing where I live too and its supposed to until late tomorrow here too. That would be funny if we lived in the same state. Have a good day!

I made homemade chicken noodle soup today, too! I didn't use dumplings, but I put in extra homemade noodles. It was so good, sitting at the table eating and watching the snow and the temperature drop! I like to bake homemade bread when it's cold and snowy, too. And drink hot chocolate!

Hmmm...that's a good question. I don't really make anything special during cold weather depsite hot chocolate. But if you are asking what I prefer to eat during cold weather, then chili my dad used to make! He hasn't made it in a while, and I don't like to spend money on a lot of different ingredients when my food budget is uncertain. But it would be nice to have some!

A nice big bowl of hot soup sounds good to me. I was just saying that I was thinking about making a big bowl of broccoli cheese soup tomorrow. Anything that can keep me warm works for me when it is cold out.
We are getting a little bit of ice right now, but we are supposed to get up to a foot of snow in the next few days on top of the ice.
