I have been following the protests and political unrest in Egypt. This evening I heard that the Egyptian president has decided not to run for office in September. I don't know if this is good enough for the protestors. I know they want him to step down immediately and September is 7 months away. Can they wait that long? I hope no more people get hurt.

yes yesterday in president speech he said (i will not go in electron next sep) ,but this point now make Huge Split between people..between who approve to stay till next sep and find suitable person ,and between who reject that and want him to leave now because he drop down many chances to improve his performance.
Now situation is gone to worst because Demonstrators will stay in street and these will push policemen to use violent to make them move

I heard tonight that at least one likely candidate has stated that he would like to run for Egyptian President. I am sorry I do not remember his name, but he does have political experience and it sounds as if he might be a ruler

I get most of my news from comedy (the internet, "Saturday Night Live", sometimes "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" & "The Colbert Report") so it just looks like 'another big star lost his job.'

Perhaps I need to understand better---as far as I know, the Egyptian President's policies were so wrong that there were riots in Egypt, causing him to step down.
What were the policies &/or laws. What effect did they have on Egyptians, and what effect will his stepping-down have?
If I don't know any of that, then it just looks to me like "A-no-ther One Bites the Dust."

Each time the news comes on television, or if there are changes in the status, I get to hear what is happening in Egypt. In my opinion the entire area is very shaky right now. I think the people of Egypt deserve to make choices for themselves and deserve to have honest government. I am concerned about the fact that the unrest in Egypt will have a negative impact on the flow of commerce through the Suez Canal. I hope that this does not deteriorate into a long lasting war, but is the agent for change for the people of Egypt.
