Do you think the world is going to "come to an end" in 2012? Why or why not?

A lot of people believe that the world will come to an end in 2012, In truth the Mayan calender is coming to an end and will start all over again. There is no need to be scared if the world is coming to an end, because living on earth is bad enough. Some Christians fear this year a lot because they think it may be the second coming.

I like that, that the calander is coming to and ean end does not meant the whole world is going t end.
As for Christians, I would think they would be HAPPY if they thought it was the second coming, as if they are real Christians they have nothing to fear.

I don't think that someone will take the Mayan'prediction seriously. If you believe this prediction, and you away from your work, spent all your money. You will be very regretful when you find that nothing bad ever happened to our earth untill 12/12/2012.So,just do what you want to do,don't believe this prediction.

There are a lot of people who take it seriously. I think my own husband is one that thinks it might happen.

I remember quite clearly that every one said that the world will be end in 1999 when I was in middle shool. But nothing have happened until now.It is true that our world will be end one day.But I don't think it is 2012.Anyhow,this is a good topic that we are interested in.

That's such a hard question to answer. Who am I to stay if the world is going to end next year. If you believe the Mayans' prediction, then yes the world will end in 2012. It is a very difficult thing to believe--so unbelievable in its claim because of the magnitude of the prediction. To say that the world will "come to an end" is massive enough as it is but to also say WHEN it will end--2012--makes it so much more unbelievable. It's such a weird thought if one were to believe it, a little scary. It makes for a good discussion though.

It is a little scary to think of. I sway back and forth from believe because of the way things are going downhill in the world so fast, and disbelief because how can one civilization just KNOW when the world would end.

The world will not end. We end. Each of us will surely perish. Nobody in this world will remain. We will definitely end but not the place where we are living in. If the world has its end, then what is the purpose of its existence? Our world is a place of the living. It gives and nurtures life. How can it give life if it does have life on its own? Each of us should take care of our mother earth. Let us leave from where we are now with a mark of legacy. We end. Our world remains.

Sure, in the end we, the human species, will cease to exist as other species have gone extinct, and the world will still be here...unless it explodes or something major like that.
