Do scents remind you of events, places? I do!

I am the kind of person who remembers places events even people with my sense of smell. There are times (numerous actually) wherein this particular smell would remind me of the place I've been, an event that happened or a person... I love that feeling. It takes me back to that place.... well, i think it's proper that I call it a whiff of nostalgia! How about you, do you experience it too? or do you have any other senses that help you remember something?

Yes, I have experienced remembering certain events and people because of something that I smell. I think that scents or smell have strong association or connections especially with events or people significant to our lives.

Oh my gosh, that is true! I love how scents remind me of my loved ones! They feel so close to you even if they are so far away!

uhm, for me..it's just sometimes that it happens. But those are very very dear memories I remember.. so I guess everybody has this "gift" even for a bit :) It's a nice gift.. to remember really vivid memories out of the scents :) i love it. I hope it happens to me a bit more often :)

What you said with the vivid memories is so true! These scents take me back to a certain place ever so vividly I'm thinking I'm back there! Haha, I know weird but I know you can relate to the feeling. It's so nostalgic!

scents does make me remind of people and certain memories. i think scents does have a way of triggering our brain to recapture good or bad memories. but aside from scents, songs does also make me remember certain stuff, which sets my mood for the day.

I have to agree with the bad memories! :( it's just now that I realized the disadvantage of remembering things through smell. Before I was so ecstatic when I smelled of nice things and reminded me of happy thoughts but just recently, I had this bad memory due to a certain smell. I hope that would be the last though. :)
