I collected a bit of snow in the top and bottom of Maggiepie's wok and collected it for her and she made some out of it. I handed her the makings and she was like - I've never done it, and I replied that I hadn't either, so she was going to have to do it!

Thank you for commenting. I did it when I was a kid. I haven't done it since then. I even forgot how I made it. I haven't as an adult because of being afraid of it having nastiness in it. It does sound good when people talk about making it though.

Thank you for commenting. I don't blame you. It does get cold and it is easier just to got to the store to buy some that is already made and you know that it isn't going to get you sick.

I also never made any ice cream of snow.Because it
s so cold here. And i don't get courage to make an ice cream by the snow. But once i will surly try to make it. May be not this year. It could be next year. But i will surly try once.

Thank you for commenting. I haven't done it since I was a kid. Now I'm a little leery of making snow ice cream because I'm afraid that it might not be very clean. I would like to just to see what it would be like again since it has been so long but I can't get over being afraid. LOL.

Thank you for commenting. It was pretty good. Its just now there is more known about different things to make us think if it is a good idea or not. I think it would be cool to have some but I'm to afraid to have some not knowing if the snow is going to be clean enough or not.

I used to love to do that! We would always wait until the second snowfall. The first snowfall gets the majority of pollution out of the air, and although I know the second snowfall isn't exactly perfect, it's not going to kill us to eat it. Maybe if I was in New York I wouldn't do it because of the higher level of pollution. I mean in the Midwest a person is going to find less pollution. Either way, it won't hurt a person enough to make them sick.

This is the first time I've heard of this. Snow ice cream? Really? I just hope it's sanitary, at least. Wouldn't want to eat delicious ice cream if it means I'll be heading for the bathroom a lot of times afterwards.
Hope somebody can share a recipe though. I'm really curious.

Thank you for commenting. No, that would be awful if it did make you sick.Maybe that can be one of your discussions. LOL. I haven't heard of anyone getting sick eating it. It's just you definitely need to make sure it is clean. LOL.

It was the common method to make ice cream from the Antiquity until the middle of the 19th C. The ice and snow was put in a special cave in winter to be used in summer.
The ice-creams were very basic, made generally only with fruit juices and snow. For an orange ice-cream for 2 pounds of snow you need the juice of 3 untreated oranges and 3 lemons, and the zest of the 3 oranges. Just mix it and enjoy.
Indeed the snow has to be clean...

LOL seriously? it sounds a bit gross to me cause for sure snow does have many foreign substances that may cause you your health. the word ice cream may be yummy, but made from snow ruined the whole part of it. ROFL. it's better to be safe. see you around!

Thank you for commenting. I understand exactly how you feel. LOL. That's exactly why I haven't made none since I was a kid. It was real good but at the same time things weren't brought up back then about all the bad pollution and different things like that. I only had to worry about if it looked like someone stepped on it or if it was a color it shouldn't be . LOL.

I live in a city, in india, the weather is warm, never had snow, but if ever we have snow, i would like to make 'not' icecream but ice balls, pour sugar syrup and suck it, give it a try friend, take ice from little inner, they must be clean.
thanks for the discussion,,
