I installed Dreamweaver CS4 in my PC; but after the installation is completed it asks to restart the PC. he problem is rebooting takes a very long time, like forever. I tried fixing my OS through the CD, but when I saving changes in the booting priority from my hard disk to the CD ROM, it just hangs. The next time I run the PC, no changes are saved. My OS is Win XP Service Pack two and the processor is in Pentium 4. There are no problems in starting or turning off the PC, and I would like to use the System Restore, but I and my sisters have files in it. What is the best thing to do? Help.

Frankly I am also curious to know if that CS4 is original. hahaha...but one thing you can do it this:
Perform a system restore to an earlier before the CS4 was installed. Then after, please install an original if it is not. If it is, Adobe will be pleased to support your.
Fair?

hello friend....If you have really some important doccument in your pc then 1st take a backup of that..
you can do that by removing your Hard disk and connect it to another pc...
then just go and format your computer..your problem will be solved for sure..

Yes, marinerpulak, reformatting will solve the problem for sure, but aleic and his sisters will definitely lose all their files and everything else they have installed. It will be like starting over from the way the computer was on Day 1. That may be a little drastic on an older computer running XP SP 2.

Do you have enough memory in you computer, windows OS always required a lot of memory to operate. If you have not enough memory, you PC will take a very long time to boot and it might hang due to insufficient memory. You can try to increase your RAM and hardisk size and it may work.
Here is a reference that you can take a look
http://www.pcbuyerbeware.co.uk/Windows_XP_Shutdown_Restart_Reboot_Startup_Problems.htm
it may solve your problem

There are many options from which you can choose from, first get yourself a flash memory disk and copy all the files you have and then reinstall windows and install dreamweaver on your computer,or go to control panel, uninstall the program and install it again, but read the terms and other stuf,,or turn firewall off.

Uninstall Dreamweaver CS4 from your system and then see how it works!

How much RAM do you have? XP SP 2 is outdated and I am guessing you are using an older computer that cannot handle the resources required for Dreamweaver CS4. Since you say you can reboot (albeit it takes forever), start the computer and go to Add/Remove Programs and remove Dreamweaver. Or even start it in Safe Mode and remove DW. Restore will probably not help in this case, because it will not remove the software.

I think batter you take your pc to any computer shop who can repair it.Because i think you did or press some wrong button and you should not take risk as you are not so good in it i think. Because usually we restart our computer after install any new software so restart is not a matter for this problem.
Good luck!
