Yeah so this has been on my mind, but why are women so embarrassed to wear high heels I know that's why many wear sandals or flats, but I really think that women should start to wear high heels or they could at least have a little bit of heel. I think that maybe it is because they are self conscious or maybe they don't want people to pay attention to them. I really don't know anybody want to tell me why???

Personally, I would still be wearing heels on occasion, but I have had foot surgery that makes it pretty uncomfortable. I have worn a pump with about an inch and a half heel, but it did hurt a lot. Many women that I know have knee problems, wearing heels aggravates those painful knees. The other reason so many women do not wear heels is because they do not wear the wardrobe to go with them. In my opinion heels go with a dress or dressy or formal slacks. People do not dress up much anymore.

Don't get me wrong, I do like to look cute but I don't think you have to necessarily dress UP to do that. I hate formal clothing unless it's for a party or a special occasion. I used to have to dress 'business' at my last full time job for several years and I hated it. Not only did I have to spend x amount on drycleaning, I had to buy hose every week because you can't wear hose with runs unless you wear slacks often. Most of my outfits were skirts with a jacket, and seriously if I was wearing a long skirt, the hose would run in the foot or ankle area, if I was wearing a short skirt, it was always up my knee or thigh. GRRRR.
Anyway, I was so relieved when our GM finally decided to let us wear jeans every day, I had HAD IT with wearing suits and skirts and spending $$ on drycleaning everything and killing my feet with heels LOL!

anime a lot of women do not wear them because they are ac tually hard on your feet and legs.okay they look great but really should not be worn for work days or every day just when you dress up for a party or evening out. low heels are much healthier for your feet and legs. Alot of older women have to quit wearing them because the high heels have deformed their feet.It has to do with common sense not self consciousness or
anything like that. they really are not good for our feet.

I don't really like high heels. First of all, I'm pretty tall already. Not so horribly tall that I tower over all the guys, but tall enough so that wearing high heels makes me feel like a mountain and I don't actually like that feeling. I'm content with my average height.
And I'm a total klutz. Give me ten minutes in a pair of high heels and I will fall, trip, or break something guaranteed.
So why do you think women should wear high heels? I'm just curious because I never thought about it as something important.

Platforms are kinda cute but I'm bound to trip in those too. Do heels hurt your feet when you wear them or do you wear them all the time no problem at all?

Growing up im sure some girls didnt want high heels nad werent girly so they didnt wear them and now if they have to wear them it probably hurts there feet so they dont wear them or they really just dont look good walking in them because there walking all wrong in them and walking all wrong in them is very embarrising im sure to them and they get self consious about it and would rather wear some type of fancy sandal.
I would say im not embarrassed to wear them because i have been wearing them for years and actually love them.

I think the problem is not being embarrassed, I think most women just want to be comfortable.

I agree. I feel a lot more confortable walking in a pair of sneakers than running errands which sometimes take hours in high heels and come home with painful feet.

I have never thought women were embarrassed to wear high heels, I think it is a case of style v comfort...I love to dress up and a higher heel makes me look better but these days i just don't go to many places where the need to dress up is needed...and I also think of the comfort these days...

I do not come across many women who are afraid of wearing heels but I do know of some who wear it who say they do not like it mainly because they just cant be bothered with the little extra care needed to walk well in heels.
I guess they feel wobbly and uncertain plus there might be some level of discomfort depending on choice of heels. Then there are those who just love to feel free and unencumbered especially the tomboy type of women.

Speaking through my own experience, I'd say I'm not wearing high heels not because I am embarrassed or shy to wear this but rather I prefer to wear comfortable footwear only. High heels are not comfortable to me sow why would I wear something that makes life harder for me? It is like torturing myself when I wear high heels. The tallest that I could wear is only up 2 inches but more than this I could not. Some women are used to wearing heels so they do but certainly after some few hours of wearing this they are already tired and would need some rest. I don't want to exhaust myself that way. I can be pleasant and beautiful even in my low heeled shoes anyway.

For me, it's not because I'm shy, it's just because I don't want to. With my height, I'm considered tall already here in our country, and I just don't see why I should wear shoes that would make me even taller. In the office though, I would still wear one, just because it looks more professional, but outside the office, I would stick to my flats. I think it's a choice, and some women may not feel too comfortable wearing heels as compared to wearing flats.. and it goes the same for some women, who feel more comfortable wearing heels than wearing flats.

I wear heels all year long as I own so many of them. I wear the in summer, as I have high heels sandals. I wear them in the winter as I have high heeled boots. I find that if I wear flats my feet hurt. Maybe because I am so use to wearing my heels. Some tall women to not wear heels as they do not want to look taller, as I have been told by acquaintances say to me.
I find that women who wear flats is perhaps because of preference though. I also find those who wear heels look sexy in my opinion.

The high heels usually make your legs look pretty but it's not comfortable to wear them every day, especially if you walk a lot. If you try this you may end with a lot of foot problems. But flat shoes are not good either. My daughter recently had some ankle pain and visited an orthopedist. He told her that she should wear shoes with 3-4 cm heels.

Hi anime,
Because they feel they will fall down if they wear it or it gives sort of ugly posture.

I'm not embarrassed. They are uncomfortable. I have back problems and foot problems, and flats are just better for me. I only wear heels on special occasions.

This is a strange discussion... partially because I don't believe the problem has anything to do with embarrassment. The problem is two-fold - number one, many pairs of heels are simply uncomfortable. Yes, they make your legs look great but it's an unnatural position for your foot and most heels are NOT made with comfort in mind. Secondly, depending on what you do in the course of a day, heels may not be practical. For instance, I was just out running.... over six miles. Typically I don't see fit to run that far in heels and a skirt, since I'm not out to impress someone with my looks while I'm running. I have kids too, and typically what would be the point in wearing heels and a skirt when you are entertaining small kids? It certainly makes them harder to catch and it's much harder to play with them if you have to worry about how your clothing looks to others when you are bending over, squatting, sitting on the floor etc.
Now when I dress up... like black tie or something? For a party, a wedding, something special? Heck. I have several pairs of heels for that and the little black dress to go with it. Honestly though, it's just not practical in my daily life to dress up, so I don't.

I never heard that women is embarrassed to wear high heels maybe that's why some women doens't wear high heels? I really like high heels and I always have an itch to shop for nice shoes
I like to wear high heels with dress, skirt, jeans... anything, it looks good in anything I think. Howwever, I remember when I got my first pair of high heel shoes, I was a little nervous because I felt like I couldn't balanced myself to walk but it just took a little time to get used to, I fell in love with it hehe.

Yes one of my reason not to wearing high heal is because I scared to attach the attention for other people. But most of it is because if I wearing a high hill is kind of torture to me, it hurts, don't you ever to try it ? I bet you try and respond to my discussion how you feel.

Women like to wear high heels but some women don't wear high heels as they don't comfortable. And that's why some women embarrassed to wear high heels. As it's not so easy to wear high heels and walk very fast with it.
Well i also like to wear high heels but not every time.

I really dont like wearing heels, for me its not that I am conscious, I carry myself well, its just feels so uncomfortable.Especially if its like 3 inches or more, I really can't stand the pain it brings me so I rarely use high heels, just on occasions.
