Good day guys!!! It was so disgusting,Jinky Pacquiao the wife of boxing icon bought a very expensive, luxurious dress worth Php50M for their appearance with Pres. Obama. Oh my!!!I mean, I don't give a damn about it but why the public should know? I heard it from the news on TV this morning. Which is nice to hear, Jinky Pacquiao donated 50 million to different Philippine charities or telling the world that she bought 50 million dress to face the most influential man in the world?
Another thing guys, if she would go to her church services (whatever her faith), would she wear more than 50 million-dress to face and pray to her Creator?
Which is more worthy for her expensive attire her Creator or the most influential man in the world?
Or maybe she would had just wore cheaper dress...
Note: Am not only referring this to Mrs. Pacquiao but to everyone or perhaps one of us here is doing like this in front of our Creator..
How would you analyze this guys..let me hear from your point of view.

I think the 50 Million dress is exaggerated.
I haven't seen that news on-line. Maybe you can share the link?
If you have read the January issue of YES magazine where Jinky was featured, I don't think she'll spend that much on a dress. But one thing is for sure, the dress will go with a $50,000 (P2.1 million) Birkin Bag.
I think the Pacquiao's are excited to meet Obamas. Who wouldn't? He is the first Filipino athlete ever to make an official visit to the White House, and he's also probably the first professional boxer to meet Obama. The world is watching. So I think they really would spend to look presentable in this meeting. It's their money anyway!

Yeah!!!That's their world..there's nothing we can do with that. But why the heck announced it on air? Maybe they would just tell the world what they are now than before...thanks for responding..

The Pacquiaos did not announce it in the air. It was the media, which they dont have control of.

You know the media, sometimes they tend to exaggerate just so people have something to talk about.

hi daddy mob!
nice to see you back!
back to your topic? really? wow! i miss the news last night that's why i don't have an idea of it. anyway, i think that's just too much.
i don't care about it since its their money and its from her husband's hard
work...hehe but come to think of it, its just a waste of money and its already a treasure to most people.
well, it is on the news because they are popular, celebrities and you know the media...
but still i wonder what's her purpose on buying that expensive dress, to impress? impress who? Obama? will she tell him, hey Mr. President I'm wearing a Php50M dress...will Obama care? lol!
or she don't have confidence with herself? I guess if you are confident enough, whatever dress you wear even if its from "ukay-ukay" it will still flaunt your beauty if it suits you...or just to brag? huh! i don't know.
nothing against them, but its just an opinion...
and oh, by the way I would wear that expensive dress on whatever occasion, a decent and neat dress that suits me will do. :-)

hello Martin,
This is another proof of being drunk with glory and fame (worldly things, but unGODLY)
Ok it is her money, she can do what she want.
But,can't she share it to unfortunate ones..oh well, she can say she's donating money to charities, the question is,have she donated the same worth of that dress that she wears?
Well, this only proves how people don't know how to look back from where they from.
It won't change her,she will still be the same she is...
but if she only knows where to use the money (more worthy things) that will bring her more closer to the heart of the people and GOD will surely reward her more blessings.
Have a great day always dear

It's her money. And it's not from illegal sources. She can do anything she wants with it. But, just imagine how many houses it could build for the homeless. Sigh. I bet not even Michell O would wear a dress that expensive.

Yes..you're all right guys..that's their money but why they let everyone knew it?
For her husband not only a national treasure but also a public servant and that money is quite a help for those less fortunate people in his province.
If they could not give that amount to their constituents why broadcast it to the public. Buying very expensive attire for just one man..
Just my point of view..thanks anyway.

As long as its their own money then there is nothing wrong with it.
We could probably say its a bad decision, but who are we to meddle with their lives? If they can afford it, then there are no reasons why they should seek approval from the poor people. They for sure have also poured in millions to help the poor. That alone made them much better than any of us who have never given anything for our fellowmen.

Personally, I'm not a fan of celebrities who buy dresses and things whose prices seem to be over-the-top. I just don't find it practical. I mean, there are more important things that money could be spent for. However, I do respect their choice and that it's their own earnings which they use to pamper themselves. I've always thought that if I were as rich as them, I would rather travel than surround myself with luxurious items.

She don't know how to spend her billions of money that is why aside from donating 50million to charities she spend it buying expensive dress. For me, its still worthy because she want to be presentable in front of influential person just like when we also want to be presentable when we go to our church services. Although that's not the important aspects that we can do in order to please our God Almighty, but still its part of it.

I must have missed the news about this. But if ever that was the case it is still so dissapointing for her to flaunt that he bought a 50 M dress. I was already disgusted when she flaunted the very expensive bag she bought overseas in another show. I know it's no one's business on how she uses their money. But I think she should not flaunt it people already know they are rich. The money she has spent on this thing can help a lot of people in poverty here in our country. If she did bought that kind of dress she should have just kept it to herself. It's too sad to hear in the news about these useless showing off and then think of the status of our country

I'm sure a lot would raise their eye brows on it but what she's doing is not something new. Yes, it smells of hypocrisy all over but then she's now living in the world of show business where hypocrisy is everywhere. So much could have been done if she donates that 50 million pesos to help the poor but then I'm sure they already have their share of giving to charities. The Pacquiaos are not greedy, but suppose they are there's nothing we can do about it because the money spent is their hard earned money. Let's just give it to her, facing the most powerful man in the world don't happen to everyone, maybe wearing that very expensive dress would make her feel less intimidated. In my opinion, she's less of a hypocrite than majority of the wives of public officials who desperately wants to be in the high society, wears expensive dresses and jewelries and yet the money used to buy those came from the people's money.

Additional comment:
Isnt this question an evidence of our "crab mentality"?
I mean, it is not really our business what these people buy with their money as long as its from hard work not through illegal ways.

Well, that's their money and it's theirs to spend. However, they shouldn't have been broadcasting about the worth. They could have just set "secret" or just don't comment on it.
Sometimes, those reporters are the ones magnifying the worth of the dresses. Then, they would comment. . . wow you could buy a lot with that!

Yes, this money is very usable to the poor people, homeless and orphans etc etc but if every one thinks like that then "Poorness" will not exist in this world. But it is impossible because this universe is created (might be made) with good vs bad, rich vs poor, love vs hate , piece vs violence, service vs selfish.

Where did you get this news from?
Yup agree, No offense to the Pacquiao's but Jinky Pacquiao will still be Jinky Paquiao in the old days even if she buy the most expensive dress in the world. This was yet the most funny thing she had done to flaunt their money but anyways she just wants to show people what money they got, the sad part was imagine the 50million dress can be downsize to some millions yet it can be made by a famous world designer, and the saved amount can be spent on other things more important although she might be thinking the her appearance will really be important

I dont think so press should give to much attention to that.
But i dont think so buying costly dress is anything wrong. Its her money. Its a time to stop hating rich people. Most of the people who are rich are there on the top of the world because of hard work and it think most of us do have those capacities.

I don't see anything that could make a dress worth that much. No matter how much you spend on clothes, it's not going to change you. When we had the presidential elections one of the candidates spent a lot of money on her outfit, and the campaign paid for it. After they lost, she was supposed to donate it to some charity or something. At least Pacquiao is spending her own money, but it could be spent much wiser.

Wow, I can't imagine spending that much on a single article of clothing! I've bought several very nice like-new dresses from my local thrift stores, including a couple of formal gowns, and I've never spent more than $20 on a single one. If I had the amount she spent on that one dress, I would have enough to buy a house, finish my bachelor's degree at a state university, go on to graduate school, cover tuition for my husband to do the same, invest in a college fund for my daughter, help my parents finish building their new house, and pay off every cent of debt I have and still have about half of the money left over!
It would be nice if Mrs. Pacquiao would consider auctioning or raffling the dress to benefit charities. It sounds like she's a well-known celebrity. I'm sure many people would jump at the chance to own something she wore while meeting President Obama.

The woman wanted to impress and apparently, she succeeded. However, I don't think that throwing a care or stone at Jinky in this incident will cause any life-altering effects. She can afford luxurious clothes and in her present state, she is obliged and expected to wear them. She has now status that she enjoys with due credit from her husband. Though it is the Christian thing for rich people to give and share with the poor, you have to face reality that sometimes, it does not happen. Corruption and increasing wealth of few elite families prove this point. If this scenario happens, more or less poverty would have alleviated in some degree all over the world or in a particular country. And lastly, Greed is not one of the seven cardinal sins for nothing.
Whatever transpires between Jinky and her Creator is theirs. I hate to intrude on such personal relationship even on a rhetorical standpoint.
If you wish to blame someone or something, blame the media that emphasizes on these details. There are people in this industry whose sole role is to create intrigue and slander public people and treat them as commodity rather than as persons. The same applies to any celebrity that media or its practitioners' 'flavor of the month.'

There are times that the amount of a certain dress, etc of celebrities are tagged by the media with unreasonable prices.
The more prudent thing for Jinky would be to admit how much the dress actually costs. This is nothing but for transparency on their part, especially since her husband is a public servant. It's not "asking for permission" but more of being open to the public, to avoid more intrigues and gossips.
