Ok, let us be really honest here. Sugar is basically in everything we eat and drink day in day out. When i was young this never bothered me, i absolutely loved my sweet stuff, when i was a kid i loved my sweets, chocolate, cakes, etc. As i was getting into my teenage years i made a major changes to my life. No matter how much i exercised and stayed fit i still wanted to cut my sugar level down as i felt i had too much. Normally i would have a few teaspoons of sugar on my breakfast. I would also have about 3 or 4 teaspoons of sugar in my tea or coffee, and i would also eat many sweet things that were full of sugar. One day i suddenly decided to make a change to my life. i wanted to keep healthy and my body also in shape. I decided to cut down on my sweets and chocolate, i then made a rapid change in having no sugar in my tea or coffee and also no sugar on my breakfast. At the start this didn't taste great at all, luckily i did adapt and quite quickly and i am still extremely happy that i still limit even nowadays the amount of sugar i have. Have you ever restricted your amount of sugar by so much and so quickly? How do you feel now if you have made drastic changes like i have? Now i love the fact and it doesn't bother me at all, as much as i do eat chocolate and cakes, sugar is now not part of my breakfast or my brews which is good. As people say, too much sugar is bad for you.

Hi mspitot,
I am restricting the sugar so much. Many people who buy things from shops may not actually consider how much sugar is in the product that they are buying. I am happy that i have restricted mine so much and hope that it is making a difference to my health. Did you not have a lot of sugar via sweet foods when you was a child? like chocolate, sweets, fizzy pop etc? Diabetes is a big thing really and so keeping an eye on your sugar intake is a good thing to do. I have close family that have diabetes, luckily as yet i haven't and with the major cut down in sugar i hope not to get it. Thankyou so very much for your response to this topic.

like you i used to have a few teaspoons of sugar in my tea/coffee but when i was a teenager i decided to try them without and still have no sugar. i do however have sugar on my cereal, but i dont eat cereal everyday. i love my sweets and cakes and all my life i have been really skinny and never been able to put weight on till now. i try to keep an eye on my kids intake of sugar and i tend to bake cakes and cookies so i know what is in them.

it is great to have such a big change, it is very beneficial to our health also. i am suprised that some teenagers like both you and me at the time do limit the amount of sugar, especially when we do have so much and then suddenly cut down rapidly on it. As you don't have cereal everyday i guess you still don't put that much sugar on it? Who doesn't really love the sweet stuff like sweets, cakes and chocolate, etc? Good that you look at the intake of what your children are having, especially when it comes to sugary goods. Also atleast when you are baking with them you are well aware as to what you are utting into the food.

Hi. craigy123456789. That is very great of you that you are limiting your sugar intake. I hope that this will benefit you greatly in the long run! I can see that it is already is. Good for you! I have been limiting my sweets intake too. I don't eat so many things that has sugar in it. I love to drink sugar free drinks. And I love to eat sugar free snacks whenever possible. I agree, that eating too much of sugar is never good for a person.

Hi cream97,
It was fairly easy in a way for me to make these drastic changes so quickly. I guess that when i set my mind to something then i do try to make sure that i do it. Too much sugar can cause many problems, many people aren't really aware as to how much sugar is in the products that they are either eating or drinking. Great that you also are cutting back on the sweet stuff, i guess even a small change is good really. Thankyou so very much for your response to this topic.

Sugar seems to be way so addictive. It just happens to be in all the things that we really shouldn't eat often but we do. I think we all love our cakes, i guess we could never give them up completely but maybe we should cut down on the amount that we do have. I think we can realise too late so it is good to learn early about it so that we can make changes if that is what we want to do. It isn't always that easy though.

There was a time in my life when I didn't even think twice about how much sugar I was consuming. However, now that I've grown older and I realize that I need to lose weight so that my body will be healthier, I definitely do pay attention to how much sugar is in my diet. The main change that I've made is that I have significantly cut down the amount of soda that I am drinking and am now drinking more tea and water than I used to drink.

Sugar really is something that when we are young we don't pay attention to it. We can put a few sugars in our tea or coffee and also put a lot of sugar in our cereal. Then there are the main things like sweets, cakes and chocolate, when we are kids we don't think of how much suager is in thee, we just love the taste. When we grow up and develop more we do become more aware, i was glad that i rapidly cut down on my sugar. I still need to lose some weight but i am so glad that i cut my sugar down a long time ago, god knows what i would be like now if i hadn't. Sometimes we can leave it to late to cut down on things. Thankyou so much for your response.
