Do you like it when an answerer deliberately misunderstands a question so that they can answer their own better question? I do.

It really does depend on my mood at the moment. I really do not like things being taken off topic a lot of the time. However, there are times where things can be taken slightly off topic and it really does make an impression. If it gets me thinking, then I think that many sins can really be forgiven based on the topic. Granted this does not work all of the time but it does work fairly often.
So yeah it really does depend on the answer. I think that it works better if I can bring their answer easily back around to the topic at hand. Of course if I'm talking about politics and then you answer about training circus monkeys...wait bad example, as that is somewhat related a lot of the time. Still it really depends on how far to the spectrum off topic it has been taken.

I am not really understanding the question, but if you agree with it, then I do too.

Assuming you meant that the answerer is answering the discussion in the way they see it and not really the way it is being discussed. If so not really sure if I like it, but if it is completely irrelevant then I may not comment; unless of course it is left with a question for me.
