Surprised by an email received from MyLot

I was checking my email and there was one email from mylot that really surprised me and caused me to never do again. Although it was not a harsh email at all but it just notified me that one of my responses in a discussion was removed due to advertising/soliciting reasons.
First of all, I admit it was my fault. I can't deny that. I know I did not read the tos but I still accept my mistake. No wonder why most mylotters are not putting their referral links of any program in discussions related to money making. I noticed that if there was a topic about ptc, I guess it's only I who consistently put my referral links for the purpose of gaining referrals. I should have realized this beforehand.
Ok from now on. I should be watchful and I will never put my referral links here in order to get referrals. I am sorry Mylot admin. It was my fault and it was just worth removing.
Have a great day.

Unfortunately, you are not alone. Many new members don't bother to read the Terms and Rules of sites before they sign up and begin to use a site. When you joined, you should have received a confirmation email in which you were asked to read the Terms and the Guidelines. If you haven't done so, read them now!
The Terms are rather long-winded but do tell what MyLot is about, the copyright situation and what is and is not allowed when using MyLot: http://www.mylot.com/o/terms.aspx
The Guidelines are something EVERYONE should be fully familiar with. They are NOT a complete list of what is and what is not allowed but do list the kind of thing which is not allowed. It's important to understand that MyLot is a DISCUSSION site which aims to put QUALITY first. Anything which does not tend to lead to a discussion with good quality, descriptive (and, of course, original) responses and comments is liable to be removed. Likewise, any responses or comments which are posted with a 'for profit' motive and/or do not relate to the topic or are simply of no value to the discussion are liable to be removed: http://www.mylot.com/o/guidelines.aspx
The FAQs have the answers to almost every question which a member is likely to ask about MyLot. Any 'discussion' consisting of a question which is already answered in the FAQs is regarded as a 'duplicate' discussion and will usually be removed: http://www.mylot.com/o/faq.aspx
MyLot is really a very easy and rewarding site to use, provided it is used properly. All you have to remember is that it rewards you for QUALITY. If you don't post quality discussions, responses and comments, you are not likely to be getting the full benefit of the site!

I had one posting deleted yesterday. I shared my accident (or rather incident) and ask others to treasure our time alive. It was a real incident (all text no links) but I received a deletion notice from myLot saying it is a double post. I don't find any of it elsewhere, so I was quite confused. Anyway, I just learnt to accept and move on.
Don't let it affect you too much so long as we are conscious free. Now that you have acknowledged your mistake, just move on with Owlwings' advice too. I will too.

From now on don't be surprised of receiving a notification from mylot admin about deletion or responses or discussion if not based on the guidelines given. So be aware of the guidelines and see to it that you can base your responses and discussion. It is not a big deal but sometimes your be surprised, as you said you admitted your mistake so why your surprized.. welcome here in mylot... see you around

I understand your side, I notice you are newbie here due to the number of post you have now. Correct me if I am wrong. Not only you did this, even me before when I was also newbie in this site. Can you imagine, my first post was about my online program and I posted a series of discussions with referral links. I was annoyed when I member caught me and informed that I am violating the guidelines which was I never knew because I didn't even read any of the guidelines here. I was thinking that this site is not good so I stop myLotting for almost 1 week.
Then I came back and check my account. My post still there, at that time staff of myLot cannot delete immediately all post that violating the guidelines, it takes more days to do it. I contact myLot to ask them to delete my discussion. At that time I am not worried about my violation because I admit already my mistakes. I tried posting 1 discussions and I got 5 response. After the day when I checked my account I earned 6 cents so I decided to try myLot, who know it will give me a good opportunity that can pay my monthly bills. Since then, I am now addicted here and don't want to stop posting even I have regular job.

I think that it is a common trait for new members to do this. I think that if I was not warned that this was wrong by a few people as I was researching this website, I might have done it. Still it is really a common trait. People sign up, with the intention of spamming their referral links. They really do know better. At least a lot of these people never return. Granted, the point is rather moot, as they just wasted their time, as myLot tends to be on the ball with these type of things, deleting them rather quickly.
I think that the fact that you are willing to learn and grow from something like this really puts you a few steps beyond. Some people get deleted and don't learn from their mistakes. So while you might have had a shaky early start, good job in turning it around. It proves that there are some people who can learn. So excellent, very excellent indeed.

Oh, it happened to me, too but with different reason. My post was deleted because of double posting. It was not my fault but blamed it to poor connections. I have poor internet connection then when I reload the page, repeat what I have written then submitted it and to my surprise, there it was, double post from me. Now I am very careful not to repeat the same offense. We are all but humans only , making mistakes is inevitable !

Well, you learn your mistakes, and we all did the same, committing mistakes and make it like a lesson on any circumstance. Don't worry about it, you will remember next time, and happy mylotting here.

What most of us do instead is put the links on our profile and if anyone wants to join they can do so, but we may not solicit our links to other mylot members.
Please be sure to read the TOS so your discussions will not be removed. Then you will be a happy Mylotter and earning for your posts.

I have encountered this situation for many times, and frankly I think most of them are not my fault, or rather a part of that is my fault...My responses were deleted because the discussion I responded to was deleted ...Nonetheless, it is okay for me as I believe nobody will want repetitive and non-original discussion...The steps taken are to ensure MyLot is an informative world for all...Thumbs up for the admin
