Reading is a must for everybody. I wonder why almost everybody does not like to read anymore. I keep on encouraging my acquaintances to read in such a way that they will keep abreast of what was happened and of what is going on nowadays. Students nowadays do not like to read. What will happen then if one stops reading? Most of us do not spend time reading. What will befall is everybody loses his or her love for reading?

I do not know about others, but to me, I love to read. I started reading in high school, and although I always have time,is one of the activities you always do it with pleasure. I love to read so much, that sometimes when I give every one good book and I have a hundred pages of it, cancel all that was done that day only to finish, ignoring the phone or usually happens . Obviously, in those moments all the worries of everyday really does not matter. I log out louder than if I go on vacation. I know many people want to read more but do not have time. I recommend you give itself a bit from time to time, because if it does not make time for themselves, much less a time to do others.Others will occupy your time rather than to give it to you. So give yourself time to see if a reading will catch a break to find many that you can read! I also know that some people do not like to read, whether at school was something required to read and books were uninteresting and outdated, or that never had the luck to give the author more than appropriate. There are so many books now, so many authors, that is much harder to miss the first just a book you like, so it is normal for many to drop their interest in reading. But it would be a shame not to give another chance reading, because it is a great experience! And if a book you like, leave and try another!

Reading is definitely something we have to encourage everyone, especially the youth, to include in their routines. Reading text books, the news, magazines, novels, even comic books. These are important tools in learning. I am a reading fanatic, I have to admit. If I wasn't I think it would have been really hard to pass medical school. Med school taught me the importance of reading. Over and over again, that is. But even before that, I was already a wide reader. And up to now that I've already graduated from Med school, I still buy books to keep me updated. I read them whenever I have the time. We cannot so much emphasize the benefits of reading. I do wish that schools would implement reading as a subject, even in gradeschool and highschool. And I really hope that schools would still encourage the use of real reading materials. Reading is fun, when you're really into it.

I enjoy reading novels so much I make sure I buy a new one every month. Some old books, some are new releases. I really love getting lost in the world of fiction. It's a very rich world, where there's fun and excitement. I know I sound nerdy. But I really love reading. Which reminds me, I havent bought a new book yet for February. Happy reading! And Ill definitely check out the site you gave.

People do not read much anymore because it takes time, and they are too involved in a million other things. It takes time even to become a good reader.

I'm a student and I love to read. I adore reading. I live and breathe books. I chomp through 2-3 books in a week and I spend more time reading then I spend doing anything else. It breaks my heart to hear people say that reading is boring, or going obsolete... because I've always loved books. I don't see why most people don't like to read.

Well Boboy, I really cannot imagine what will happen if everyone stops reading! That would be so awful because I love books. Now with my two-year-old son being quite handful, I am somewhat lagging behind my reading but always make it a point to read at least a few pages every night after he is asleep, no matter how late it may be. I think the reason that people do not like to read may be because of the TV and movies; and reading does take a little more effort than watching TV. So I guess, people do not want to be bothered with books any more. But I do not want that to happen with my son so I just let him play with old magazines and books that I never liked but kept them anyway. I even let him tear pages in the hopes that at least being in constant company with books, he will develop a lasting relationship with them eventually. :)

I am a 22-year-old student, and I've always loved to read. I wouldn't say that all students do not like reading. Up until last year, my husband was a student, and he too enjoys reading. I think that there will probably always be someone who will enjoy reading. I have a feeling that it might be an issue. I do still think that people should be encouraged to read, but I think that there will be those people, who will simply love reading and will do it by themselves.

oh i cant even imagine that for myself. i simply love reading. be it the newspapers or novels, magazines, reader's digest, anything and everything. half of the knowledge comes from reading for me so definitely i cant stop that. like you said, i find many people who have not read a single novel in their entire life!? not even for trying. i think it should be a habitual thing for every individual from school days itself. extra exposure to libraries and reading assignments should be given

Yes i agree with you. Now a days student don't like to study. As they couldn't find any interesting way to study. So i think so many interesting way or system should come in reading book and student should be encourage by there family or others then they will study. If people stop to reading then they will not learn so many things in there life.

Earlier reading was the best media for learning and people developed and shown interest in reading a lot. But now the time changed and the trend and technique of reading also modified. While we used to listen and read were the major two way of understanding things. But as the telecommunication changes were totally turn around, the thinking also changed accordingly. Only few people has still got or like reading. Even though there are a lots of stuff in printed form like books and periodicals including news papers, TV and other sources has replaced its role significantly. I think the new generation is not much depend on reading. The information what they required is achieved differently only in respective areas they read and all other source help without reading to understand the matter. Whatever it may be still a certain percentage of people are very much attracted reading and they lawyers love and enjoy reading. Thank-s

How do they learn? Maybe you could introduce them to myLot so they will read and "write through typing". At the same they will earn. So it is beneficial to them and encourage reading and writing and make friend and so on and so on.... Don't they use textbooks any more in school? Then again, you are 42. If you are still a student, I applaud you for your continuous learning spirit. We are always learning.

I don't think people will eventually just hate reading. I absolutely love reading just about anything. The key is showing others the beauty of imagination and learning, and how reading can open your eyes to different universes and abundant amounts of knowledge. And finding books that people love to read and find the stories interesting will spark more love in reading.

Im one with you Boboy2. Sad to say but it is a reality that reading has lost its essence and it continues to go down the drainage (especially among school children). Not to mention the multifarious forms of media around them such as internet, mobile phones, iPhones, PSPs, TV, among some which tend to divert the silent time of a person which is allotted for reading. Even in schools, pupils no longer visit the library to target its main objective rather it is a rendezvous for group chat. Being the academic principal of a school, I've observed for the past 2 years, when I went over the year end inventory as to library usage by pupils in our school, I was surprised with the regressing figures. The five-digit sum for year 2009 became a four-digit sum for year 2010. I wont be surprised if at the end of this year, my attention would be caught by a three-digit sum of pupils who dont maximize the utilization of the library services specifically for reading and book-borrowing purposes. Reading is a special expressive macro skill which denotes speed and comprehension, thus, making one a fluent and flexible individual. What then will happen to us specially for future generation if the word "reading" will no longer be found in their vocabulary?
